!really a rant

When you write LaTeX, do you code? Typeset? Program? Type random stuff so that in the end the PDF looks good enough to publish it?

I really feel like it's coding but it also is typesetting. Hmm, the questions of life!

Little question: is it just me that does not get the notification when browsing with the browser? If I go here (https://www.devrant.io/feed/recent) I see no notifications in the top left icon (the one that opens the menu) but if I go on the app, BAM! new notifications waiting.

This has been happening only recently, is it just me?

Kind of rant.

Why doesn't the cat sit on the keyboard?
At least my two cats just love that place. Perhaps a feature request?

Finally, after days of research and failures, I managed to understand and tweak TensorFlow's program for image classification.

The feel of power, arcane knowledge and fascination is just incredible.

Might not seem much these days, nobody was interested in it. But I, deep inside, knew: I was proud of myself.

Anyone else has this weird double-notification thing? Seems like it started this afternoon (1st August 2017 GMT +1).

My Dell PC decided to show "Unrecognized AC adaptor" error on startup.

Spent 4 hours trying to find a solution and almost declared as dead the AC cable even if current was still flowing kind of fine.

Suddenly it starts working again with nothing changed.

Dell, you just lost a possible customer.

There was a time where Nvidia drivers took few minutes to install. Looks like I missed that time, eh?

Have been waiting here for at least 30 minutes and it is still "Preparing to install". Thanks Nvidia.

Not really sure it can be called "dev" technology but I think it fits rather well.

My problem is my 4K screen. You see, I bought this PC around 1 year ago (a Dell Inspiron 15 7000 of those times) and it had the possibility to have a 4K screen and I said myself "Why not? Everything will look so much better!"
Silly me.
Many apps do not work so well with such high DPI and their UI and icons are less then 0.5cm large. It definitely was not worth it.

So my worst dev tech is any app that does not support high DPI or has no ability to change icon size (TexStudio does and I just love it!). Next PC a good old FullHD will suffice.

Coding made me who I am now. I have a much more organized mind and critical though. I have some new skills that are really useful when it comes to job hunting. I'm proud to do what I do, even if it's not that much. I love learning, coding just fits my style.

I am grateful that I started doing it, there's one big downside to coding though. We all know what it is: USERS!

Going back to drinking some coffee. Oh yea, that's how coding changed my life ;)

I discovered Tmux recently. I already love it!
(if you want a list of plugins used in both Tmux and Vim, just ask. I'm also open to suggestions since it's something I don't really know too well)

Anything from JetBrains is top-tier. Those guys just rock! Their IDEs and programs are just fantastic. Made by developers, for developers.

Who am I kidding? Cats and coffee. Those are what keep me going!

One thing I would really like to be able to do: always understand my own code.

Boy it irritates me when I forget to make proper documentation and have to loo back at some code I wrote days before. Knowing what I was thinking at that moment would be just great.

The particular day
it was in April.
A news to convey
of a new job to cradle.

The first one it was
and well it paid.
One problem existed because
too late I was laid.

And still in school
for two years to come
I'll sit on a stool,
my keyboard to drum.

Good it was on paper
but too young for me,
using C shaper
being on a coding spree.

In two years time
I'll hope for the best,

A.I. steals my job?
I guess the I.T. guy fixing things up is a good option.
In the mean time the A.I. will learn about devRant and start ranting about things we messed up. He will then lose faith and resign from continuing.
