They continued to be rude, so I politely pointed them to my competitors app and told them their app will be much more useful to them.

I did this to cause my competitor pain as well as knowing my competitor does not respond to support tickets hardly at all.

It’s not custom fonts. It’s a special encoding that allows you to use special fonts basically anywhere. I bet it has to do with your system language/encoding settings.

@lucaspar it’s mainly because my dog just got out of surgery and I won’t be back for 7 days. I travel a lot, mainly road trips, and I love to travel. I’m just not really looking forward to being there for a week just to work 12 hours a day.

Laravel and Plesk are 2 entirely different things. Plesk is just a web host manager similar to cPanel.

I once hated PHP.. then I started using Laravel. Now I can create my Shopify and SaaS apps in a fraction of the time using OOP. Laravel isn’t perfect, I wish it was a bit more lightweight, but it does ORM the right way.

@beggarboy I wish I could. The ColdFusion community is so small and tight. This guy seems crazy and if I burn this bridge I could ruin my career.

@starrynights89 luckily I already signed an offer letter for a contract to hire position. I’m just waiting to meet with the firms direct client and for them to give me the go ahead to join their project.

It’s an agile environment with newer tech and frameworks. I come from a government background so I’m excited to be back into something I know I’ll enjoy.

I used to be really active here on the early days. Now, not so much. I think what’s happening is there are too many new comers gouging for ++s and not enough quality rants. Also, I’ve noticed when I do create a quality rant it gets almost no attention other than from people who I know are legit developers. In this day and age it’s cool to be a Dev... so this place is getting a lot of attention from poser types and less by actual developers.
