If this is the case, then it can be tempting to curse sentimentality or feel estranged from any sort of passion in life. I won't pretend to know the meaning of your life, that is for you to resolve. But for me, passion is essential, lest I wander aimlessly with my head down, kicking rocks and cursing existence. Passion, sentimentality, and deep bonds with other people or animals are my main drivers. In the end, you have to decide how you want to live, and that will probably be a continuous process. Do you mean the list of activities that shows when you swipe up on the pill? Maybe it has something to do with the default launcher, bc I am using a custom launcher with android 11 and do not have this issue.

@vintprox Kotlin is worth it for the reduction in verbosity imo. Not to mention the mental effort and runtime NPEs saved by having non-nullable types. However if you're still needing a lot of java interop (like with Android), then these benefits can be more minimal.
