Why is it so hard to get WLAN working on Linux? 😭😭😥

I asked my manager for a compensation adjustment today since my peers at the same tenure and experience as me were making $30,000 more than me. They said no since I haven't worked on any big projects yet and the projects that were big enough, I didn't do it by myself so they don't count.

I'm not sure if they know how software teams work... I'm pretty sure we make software for TEAMs...

Roommate's boyfriend visits just to work because his laptop can't connect via WiFi anymore.

Described the problem and fix attempts yesterday, he got two other tech savvy people involved, now suspects hardware problem.

I needed <1m to re-activate the WiFi adapter, now I'm seen as the local tech God as I deserve.

So I started getting email notifications telling me about transactions made using my credit card. But I DON'T have a credit card in the first place.

Instead of trying to call customer care and pressing an endless array of buttons, I drive to the bank. I tell them the situation and they check every database they have but they couldn't find any trace of a card connected to my account. Turns out their database somehow had cross-links in their database.
How does the one of the biggest banks in the country possibly have such an issue. Worst part is that it's been a day and they still haven't fixed it -_-
