@AleCx04 BIG FACT. Engineer is thrown around so often these days. I feel like it's something you have to earn like the term Doctor.
-
Yo don't call me out like that.
-
@Root Thank you for your advice and everyone else as well! Will try to keep myself at a stable pace.
-
Happened to me with Roblox.
-
@Hazarth big rip. Holy.
-
Couldn't you compress it, then decompress when it gets to the FE?
-
@vigidis LOL. I like it
-
@NoMad Next week.
-
@DirtEffect I got some feedback. One was about "React skills", and that I was in the top 3 candidates before getting shaved off. It just feels... Unlucky.
-
@electrineer burn it at the stake.
-
It's like vanilla. Many different flavors of vanilla, but when it comes down to it it's just vanilla. Which one sounds best to you?
-
@webketje I forgot the coffee mug. Damn
-
Would you like some latency with your latency?
-
@bioDan thank you!
-
There has been 1 or 2 times where I accidentally removed my coworker's merge fixes. I told him right away and sat on a call to put it back. It was my fault
-
@cervantes01 Thank you I'll try to focus on the positives while I'm here
-
@C0D4 Thank you. I've been studying so I can jump up at a different company.
-
@NoToJavaScript I got a 10k raise after 2+ years being at my company. With a 3% inflation (let's say 2%), it isn't close to a 10% raise. They gave me the run around for 12 months after I asked for a raise.
Verified in QA means it has been thoroughly tested by the QA engineer. It's their job to find deeper bugs before it hits production. Unless you think "Verified in QA" means something else? -
@Demolishun I talked to him about it, and he understands when it's a platform issue, but the product managers and customers do not care, and just go to the recent ticket that wasn't fulfilled due to a platform issue.
I think my biggest issue is that if I give the stamp after testing (general and some edge cases), and then QA tests it, gives the stamp of approval, then it turns out something is wrong, only I get the blame. It isn't equally distributed. -
@Demolishun It comes down to someone saying they're unhappy with the changes to my manager, then my manager comes to me with the complaint. Even if it was a platform error, I still get the short end of the stick.
-
@AlmondSauce Hey thanks for the comment. I graduated back in 2016 from a UC (University of California), and am looking to go for the big fish. I did pretty bad in college, so I'm trying to level up and get into a top tier company or somewhere with a high total compensation.
-
AYEEEE LET'S GOOOOO. Congrats!
-
@N00bPancakes My thought exactly. Just don't understand the importance if I know what a term means. I can code and do problems you throw at me.
-
FreeCodeCamp is how I started with web development. You can use CodePen.io to just mess around with HTML and ish
-
@shoogknight Yeah taxes are bound to shoot up on a federal level which kind of blows with Biden. We just have to wait and see what or if it ever happens.
-
@HiFiWiFiSciFi Is the 401k fancy shit because not all companies offer it? OR fancy shit since money I put in can't be touched until I'm the ripe age of about to die?
-
I feel you. I was so disappointed with my raise. The best way to get a salary increase is to find a new job.
-
Apple didn't even mention what the "top tier PC laptop" they compared it to. All their claims are just hot air until they actually get proven.
-
@signedadam yeah not down for that. If they make a large epic ticket, I can make the subtasks to make it work. That's not a biggie.
-
Congrats! I purchased my first home (condo in the Bay Area) a few months ago! It's very surreal up until the first mortgage payment. haha.
