Just updated my LinkedIn summary, included "Design Thinking", "bleeding edge technologies" and "innovation-driven"...
What other phrases can you think of that only exist to play Buzzword-Bullshit-Bingo? :D5 -
Who also has some Raspberry Pi's?
& for what are you using yours? 🙂
I use my Raspberry Pi 3 for ownCloud & my Raspberry Pi 2 for PiHole.32 -
I was looking for some good loading gifs, and waited more than a minute for these images to load...9

I just started learning Kotlin for a week or two and suddenly Google announced Kotlin will be officially supported for Android development.
I'm excited.6 -
Drawbacks of using Linux and Windows side by side?
While using Visual studio I keep typing ESC :w for saving and then on Vim I keep pressing Ctrl + s.
Urghhhhh!!!4 -
Old story.
Colleague: "I'm gonna update some tables and stored procedures later"
*phone rings two hours later*
Colleague: "Hi! Just wanted to tell you I accidently dropped all our production databases. Have fun recovering them 😊"
Well shit.8 -
Instead of using OneNote, Evernote, etc I'm thinking of using a git repo where I would write notes, save bookmarks, links, information, everything with markdown.22

"Should I use Mithril or Durandal?"
"I'm sorry, I don't play Dungeons & Dragons.."
"They're Js libraries.."
Fuck sake, because we needed more reasons for people to think we're nerdy virgins.5 -
I just had the most intense nerdgasm of my life.
So I'm learning NodeJS (11/10, super fun, totally recommend) and I already had a chat script written up but it was only available to my LAN. Im hosting it using my Raspberry Pi Zero, which is surprisingly fast, and obviously sips power. Anyways, I FINALLY figure out port forwarding (Comcast made things harder, as per usual) and for the first time in my young life, I chatted with someone half way across the country... Using the hardware I set up, running the script I wote, on the network I configured.
I could have sworn I was drooling.
Today was a good fuckin day.19 -
Last week our department drama queen was showing off Visual Studio’s ability to create a visual code map.
He focused on one “ball of mud”, vilifying the number of references, naming, etc and bragging he’s been cleaning up the code. Typical “Oooohhh…this code is such a mess…good thing I’m fixing it all..” nonsense. Drama queen forgot I wrote that ‘ball of mud’
Me: “So, what exactly are you changing?”
DK: “Everything. It’s a mess”
Me: “OK, are any of the references changing? What exactly is the improvement?”
DK: “There are methods that accept Lists. They should take IEnumerables.”
Me: “How is that an improvement?”
<in a somewhat condescending tone>
DK: “Uh…testability. Took me almost two weeks to make all the changes. It was a lot of work, but now the code is at least readable now.”
Me: “Did you write any tests?”
DK: “Um…no…I have no idea what uses these projects.”
Me: “Yes you do, you showed me map.”
DK: “Yes, but I don’t know how they are being used. All the map shows are the dependencies.”
Me: “Do you know where the changes are being deployed?”
DK: “I suppose the support team knows. Not really our problem.”
Me: “You’re kinda right. It’s not anyone’s problem.”
DK: “Wha…huh…what do you mean?”
Me: “That code has been depreciated ever since the business process changed over 4 years ago.”
DK: “Nooo…are you sure? The references were everywhere.”
Me: “Not according to your map. Looks like just one solution. It can be deleted, let me do that real quick”
<I delete the solution+code from source control>
Me: “Man, sorry you wasted all that time.”
I could tell he was kinda’ pissed and I wasn’t really sorry. :)2 -
Stupidest client ever:
I once had a client that requested me a new website, all went well and get paid.
After a month our two, he called and requested a change on basically all pages. I sent him a estimate of 2h, he approved, signed a contract and I've made the changes. He never paid me that changes. After 2 months ignoring my calls and emails I've rollback to the pre-changes website. He called me anything you can think off and that I would be sorry for done that... I was like... WTF??
- Pay me and I'll put the changes online.
He replied:
- you will be sorry. See you in court.
We went to court because of FUCKING 200€...
Court decision? The client was obligated to pay me the 200€ and all the court expenses...22 -
Got rejected in interview for Web developer... Interviewer showed company website and asked if it's made in html or WordPress... I said html which was wrong...
Am I incompetent? How can I predict the platform just by looking at UI...?30 -
What is the best project you've done with a Raspberry Pi? Got my model 3 a month ago and was thinking of turning it into Jasper. However I'd like to consider more options before starting it.
Thanks in advance12 -
Having found Stripe i am glad i can get rid of PayPal on all my projects.
Paypal is overrated.Stripe is the future of online payments for developers.2 -
I told Zo I have an exam the next day. Like a normal AI she responded.
Today she messaged by herself (part 2 in comments)5 -

Since Parse is shutting down by January 27th, I need to migrate my startup application's entire database to a new platform. What a pain. I'm thinking of doing Firebase...11

When you're making a GitHub students account:
"We'll email you in a few weeks"
5 seconds later, you'll recieve an email:
"Hey <username>, we have some awesome news
We've upgraded you to a plan with unlimited free private repositories, which will be free for the next two years."
GitHub, I don't think you know what weeks are, lmao12
