Keep an eye on the usage and billing if you sign up with gcloud. I’ve recently been stung with a 1000 $ bill for a tiny inactive app engine app, which is apparently using 1.5tb of cloud storage egress from the 4 deployments I did before turning it off🤷🏼‍♀️ Have asked their support team to investigate but they just send generic links to docs I can google. I should make my own rant.

Anyway k8 can be good if you need containerisation, we use it with circle ci at work. It’s probably overkill for most apps but might be worth learning. If you know docket, you just need to learn the yaml files and keys stores etc really... and again, make sure you ether don’t put a credit card number in or set some scaling limits. Configure a maximum limit.

@watzon agreed, I see people destructing everything in react, just because; when all they need is something like ‘this.props.content’. Why make it two lines?

Yeah I use it, haven’t noticed performance issues. You can change the indexing and auto suggestion settings that might help.

Sometimes my computer seems to slow down when it has a pending update ready to install weirdly.

I have this exact problem at the moment. Neighbors in apartment building have a party two nights a week on work nights. I’ve missed days of work and loads of social things due to being tired.

I’ve gone next door and told them to be quiet seperate 3 times at around 2 am so far.

They did it again Thursday night so I’m now taking to building managers / estate agents etc who are going to get on their case. We’ll see what happens...

In the meantime looking at new apartments 😴

Random related tip if you are on a Mac. You can use the Xcode plist editor to make hierarchical data structures and then save as or convert them to JSON with putil

@Coffe2Code I run two 4K monitors, a keyboard and a mouse, while charging my computer from one USB-C port half the size.... and way harder to break than the old USB3 ports.

You’re p-off with Apple for giving us a blue ray player cos you’ve still got all your tunes on a cassette.
