@Hubot-0x58 barely would have got a working computer in that time most places I've been 😆
-
@Hubot-0x58 I get that people may have many past jobs but let's be honest when looking for a C# developer in 2019 I don't need to know about your first job in 1994 writing smalltalk or Fortran... Just the company name, title and time there would do and even then I'd say I don't really care just say full job history available upon request
-
@ganjaman that is fantastic!
-
@metamourge 😂

@asgs isn't my place to share that info. I know it's easily found through good, but still

Thanks all for the advice. I went for bitwarden. For those that said I should avoid the cloud, I can be the person you laugh about today ;) I just have more (blind) faith than you it appears
-
@Jilano how do you handle logging into services across multiple machines?
-
I made that mistake today, asked someone why that particular wasn't important, they just chucked and then continued to explain
-
I mean they are only going for a junior position...

Consider that before the review your code is your code, it is what it is, warts and all. If you didn't have a review you wouldn't learn anything or improve and learn how to make your code better. The review, while scary, makes you better and your code better. The review doesn't make your code need improvements, it was already in the state, the review teaches how to fix them and not make them again. Learn to love them. Having the opportunity to gather with other professionals is priceless and they're are many Devs out there that don't get opportunity, cherish it

@IDontGiveADuck I'd never think you'd do such a thing, I assumed you weren't a monster

If you name your variables properly it shouldn't matter. Yeah
if(x)
Doesn't read well but don't name your variables as x or other unclear things. Name then something like 'canDoSomething'. Then it reads
if(canDoSomething)
And that makes much more sense. If the variable is a bool it's perfectly valid and reads more naturally -

Make a completely rehash of stackoverflow but where everything sounds like Sean Connery
