@spongessuck I don't know about that but right now, I need to do some other work...
Thanks for you kind words, my friend. -
@electrineer your comment is more hilarious than my rant
-
@lbfalvy haha! no it’s not violence that I was talking about
-
@melezorus34 yes, it's time to welcome the good tradition
-
I talk a lot of crap about my coworkers here. I’d probably need to find a new job if they find out my account
-
Sorry guys it’s not dev related. It’s when my wife ask me to go buy some chairs I don’t like and we don’t need. I said no. I already got into trouble.
I mean, I deal with this shit at work already. Now I have to deal with the same shit at home. Really feel like no escape unless I kill myself -
Sorry but I find this funny
-
I can understand. I used to work with a young bloke just like that. I miss working with that bloke
My current team is different. The young ones are… not lazy, but not eager either. I prefer to not give a shit about being senior here because as soon as I do something, people may think that’s within a senior’s capability and it is none of their business. I don’t like that
I prefer hungry wolves. Fuck my comfort zone. I need it but not all the time. -
@PaaPsik nice! All the best!
-
Who gives a shit about senior/mid all that. There’s more money, and potentially less stressful environment. Take the offer and go
-
Just leave the hell hole
If you feel sorry for him, I don't feel sorry for you
Look up what Stockholm syndrome is. You may have it already -
"You need work experience to find a job"...
-
yeah I had a friend who say "question mark question mark question mark" instead of showing a confused face, in face-to-face interactions
note that I put "had" there -
Don’t ask the same question 3 times. I get it. We forget things. But try to remember
Also when asking a question, ask for direction instead of every step on the way. -
Kinda funny looking at this conversation as a “senior software engineer” but I don’t know what TLS is
-
I think there’s a zebra called wild ass
-
It’s never welcomed by devs and yes I have written down “record timesheet - 20 min” on the timesheet, if someone pushes me for that level of details
I think it makes sense if customers want to know how they’re being charged and take that as a reference. Some others have to do it for tax purposes or whatever. Bottom line is, we all gotta accept the timesheet is never accurate or should be very detailed. -
What else to use though?
-
@C-sucks wtf mate I’m in the same suburb
-
The fuckwit already destroyed the Dev's productivity by bringing up this stupid conversation
-
I don't see this a bad. Maybe it's bad but still it's a good thing someone else is sharing responsibility in case screw-up happens.
Like others said, just redirect the pressure of every request your got to the admins, until they "break" and give up.
It's frustrating to be slowed down/blocked when you really want to work. I get it. -
@iiii I do that too
-
Yeah people talk about about Mac for being expensive, overpriced, etc
This is the very example that the cost for saving time is well worth it.
I don't even do iOS stuff and I've been using Mac for years. Can I switch to others? Yes I have a year ago. But for certain stuff it's just way more efficient to do on a familiar environment. -
I flip pizzas
Yeah right, not pancakes, but pizzas -
I only use rebase to squash my hundred commits like "typo", "fix small bug" into one before pushing
-
Okay that device everybody relies his life on (not really, it's in dev settings) is still down.
Not my fault, not me.
The device just wanted to take a break. Sometimes we just have to listen to its whisper. -
It's not the dynamic IP address for me. I still don't know what it is. Can ssh for a minute then get connection closed.
Guess this could be why I'm going to the office soon -
@iiii It's a paycut. But it shows how the pay is closely related to the performance. I think I can ask them to review anytime if I feel there's a misalignment, and I believe they're fair... Well maybe they have overpaid me for the past few months haha
-
I've been there
I'm still there -
I understand. That's what the rubber duck debugging is all about. It's just annoying for me. If I'm not responsible for looking after him for the first few days, I'd simply put my headphones on.
And yeah before that, I probably need to invest on a good pair of headphones...
