Anyone else get the feeling that you're whiling away your weekend when you could be getting stuff done that you found important/likeable? It sucks to realize you get 32 hours of waking time and not one meaningful ("important but not urgent") thing gets done in that time.

As experienced developers, how do you do time estimation in spite of things being stuck and new, unexpected, stuff coming at you with no extra time? This has happened to me and it's depressing and frustrating to have to ask for an extension again and again. Plus, the code and tests for it get boring.

Having a harsh life but being strong inside is better than having an easy life but no strength to fight.

I just found out that my company gives a lesser raise to higher paid employees so that eventually, everyone is paid around the same.

Guess I won't be staying here much longer.

Why is everyone addicted to monthly salary these days? No one seems interested in how money is actually made and managed (e.g. by the company they work for).
It's as if people just don't want to be rich.

Sometimes I feel like I should have been a girl.
I'd have been cleaner, tidier, more disciplined, had a definite life purpose, and handwriting that didn't look like a beetle dipped in ink crawling on paper.

First time I heard a client say: "You've done a phenomenal job, but you've over-delivered. You should have come to me. We could have worked it out." after we had to ask for an extension.

How many times does it happen that devs leave an old job to go to a "prestigious" new job only to end up hating it?
In my case I don't like my new job and don't want to go back to my old job(even if I did kind of like what I did there). I'm kinda stuck waiting for a certain minimum amount of time to pass so that I could go to some other company doing work that I actually like doing.
