Where can I follow its development?
-
Ah I see, you are a man of culture as well
-
To figure out if it is actually usable, try building a small side project (even and old one of yours would do) using it. At the end of the day, it's you who should decide if it's amazing or not.
Also a good rule of thumb is the size of the community and support. I use a framework which is a month old I think, and I have to go to issues tab on GitHub if I encounter any problem, and even then there's a bleak chance i would get something satisfactory. -
@dev0urer I made the devRant api wrapper in crystal :p
I would love to know where else and how have people used it. -
Can haz source code?
-
The problem @jmclemo6 mentioned is real and I hope someone takes it up as a side project 😅
-
Do not use Scala! Speaking from experience it doesn't work reliably since the day Google dumped Dalvik
-
Though there are some utility mods that are an absolute must. For example, you'd soon realize that the combat is fucking A but has some room for improvement, or that the mini map can be done away with and 3d overlayed markers can be used to increase the immersion (makes a tonne of a difference)

A seasoned skyrim player will fall in love with witcher 3, just saying :p
-
@Cyanite A mere mortal here, spent just 20hrs .-.
-
@Cyanite Ohhhhhh, I lost over 130 hours to this game. Stay away if you want to work and be productive!
-
Yea, it's risky though ._.
-
@aile11 sometimes :p
-
@Cyanite @aile11 I hooked up a friend of mine to it through family sharing. There are 3 spots left(steam allows only 5), in case you want. I do this to everyone I meet in the true spirits of witcher evangelism :p
-
@aile11 They are the equivalent of gateway drugs in the world of open world RPGs. I recommend the absolute fuck outta them
-
@isRantOverflow fellow witcher fan?
-
@Cyanite skyrim much?
-
@samir At this point, I think it's subjective. I feel comfortable with c being my first language whereas you don't. The points you bring up about having more to do for a mere Hello world are valid but again only for kids.
Besides, what's taught is basic structure. We don't get to make libraries in c++ and interact with video card. What you think will be taught through Python is already being taught through C++. What comes extra with C is a bit of intro to what goes on under the hood, and that's valuable imo. -
My thoughts exactly!!!
I too bought a dell( i7559) recently and holy smokes, the difference was huge. My last laptop had shit ram, shit processor and a good for nothing battery. My productivity hit through the roof when i changed the laptop.
Enjoy your new one 😃 -
@samir We both know that's not the only factor. I personally, moulded my thoughts according to what I was taught. Had it been Python, I would have thought in abstractions and just abstractions. Maybe this works with kids, most probably it does and it makes perfect sense but I was 14 when introduced to C++ and programming in general. I do believe, at that age at least, C++ was a good choice. Not too close to the metal, not too far.
-
It's better to have your foundation based on something solid rather than something fun. I am not a c++ fan but i am glad that's the language my school chose to introduce us to programming.
-
@Artemix's way sounds legit but let me just add that when I couldn't get elementary to install on my laptop, I had to rely on bash on Windows till i could figure out a way.
And it's a piece of work, yes it's fragile right now. FS monitoring doesn't work, nor does ping and a lot other things but my work involved making APIs and interacting with mongo, which worked flawlessly.
Mind you this was months ago, ymmv if you installed the creator's update (it updated Ubuntu to 16.04) -
@liammartens SOAP APIs should die indeed.
_hides_ -
@Cyanite bae is calm and side bae is wild. Gotta have balance in life :p
-
@CozyPlanes James veitch is the boss when it comes to scamming scammers!
-
I never not upvote any skyrim references. Also, devRant isn't where I was expecting to get one.
Edit: You made me restart my pc and boot to Windows just to play Skyrim. I hope you are happy now. -
Do you want bugs? Because that's how you get bugs.
-
@Jilano I got windows on ssd and Ubuntu on hdd, so Everytime i boot i have to change boot options. A bit tedious but it works :p
-
I used to get grub menu before this update, now it boots straight to Windows.
I am gonna nope the fuck out of any future updates. -
@rayanon Also, thanks for the video!
