Oh wow, that's from 2018? Can't believe I missed it, but I really enjoyed the read! Thanks for the tag @StopWastingTime
-
@Cultist thanks for the advice, don't want to do the same mistake again!
-
@Cultist mainly hobby. Will search for stuff the next couple of weeks, hope I will find something better soon.
-
@Pyjong Sounds good. I have been working on a little project before my apprenticeship started, and I think it might be suitable as a small demo, just needs a bunch of polish. Hope I'm able to find a job all around Integrations and APIs and such, as that's the place I feel home, thanks for the advice!
-
@bartmr Originally my intention was to learn new stuff, gaining knowledge I might be lacking, as I only did stuff I was interested in and I was afraid I might have been missing out on crucial knowledge. Turns out that I was wrong, so far I did not lack any knowledge and I could've been searching for a job, matching my interests instead..

According to Google, my super power is to walk through walls... Missed the last train home because of that shit.

Had the same problem. Website didn't specifically limit password characters, but the API limits it to I don't even know what. Everytime I tried to login it returned 401 wrong password and I was like, th, I seriously thought it was because of my code, but it was because the API didn't accept my password at all.

Feels relatable, I gave up on UEFI a long time ago, I use ssh with a dedicated Linux server now instead, much less stress, just a bit more laggy.
-
He's gonna be back in no time... In the meanwhile, I should stop procrastinating myself.

Please, if you do write an article, make sure to post a link here. I'm interested!

I wish some more IDE's would be able to do that honestly. An IDE I use inserts more spaces when I paste stuff into it, so I end up doubling the spaces for every time I paste code. So it's not only an unreadable clusterfuck, it's also an unnavigable clusterfuck as well...

While I like OnePlus for being easily customizable // rootable // flashable etc., it's just a phone. I bought the OP3T, because I knew I will get a high quality product, but since those phones getting more and more expensive, I will probably drop to a cheap alternative for my next phone, or just buy a used phone idk.
The thing is, hardware doesn't really matter for me phonewise, like there are a lot of decent phones, which will be able to fulfill my needs, for 200€ or less.
So yeah, no OP for me next time, quite unfortunate they don't offer cheap phones anymore. Hope this phone won't break anytime soon. -
@electrineer the game I made was to hard for them, but they enjoyed the story and the details I put into it.
It was text based and about being fast and time well. How the hell should I know they are typing with 2 fingers only?! -
This joke ain't gonna get old.

Once had a bsod in grayscales, I couldn't stop laughing.

I can kinda relate to those supporter tbh, most of the times our tickets are literally spammed with some people don't getting their scripts working, and blaming us for being a bad host, although we tell them it's THEIR fault and we will not maintain THEIR scripts!
But you still never shut the ticket just like that, it's rude and unhelpful and quite the opposite of what the users expect from a fucking supporter!! -
Are there some common issues I just don't know of? I hear that a lot, but never had a single problem ever.
-
... i disabled their authentication cookies, and it still works perfectly...

@psukys darken my room an hour before I want to go to sleep (this means I cannot leave my room anymore after that until I've slept), go to sleep before it's getting warm outside, so I just oversleep the heat, not that difficult, it's just that I cannot reschedule my life when there are other people demanding from me to be awake.
-
I'm actually scared of disabling uMatrix. I block almost everything and whitelist only scripts on websites I "trust" or websites I need to access (which means I can't bypass it by reading the source)
Yes, I know, no website is working as intended with my set-up, but I don't care, I feel a bit safer while blocking everything. -
I can totally relate to your problem. I just want to leave because I dislike so many people here and I have to see them on a daily basis, but I don't know where to go since I just don't feel safe from those idiots anywhere. And there are some friends whose I obviously don't want to leave behind because I'm still an introvert and making friends is an incredibly difficult and painful task for me. And at the end I just want to live peacefully in a healthy environment.. but I doubt I can ever achieve this.

Well I don't stay focused either, but my experiences are rather productive and still funny. I was supposed to create a little mod in Java, I ended up writing a tool called "GradleIt!", which automates some tasks like versioning and copy to output directory and it has a music track, which should hype me everytime I create a new build.
The other time I was supposed to write a simple timer, now it has automatic upload and download feature, is completely customizable, can decrypt my self-made .ejs files (though I might change the file ending), can update itself.. oh yes, and the updater is completely customizable itself, so I can just use it for other projects as well.
Yeah, only problems with those two things are that I never do a actual progress on the projects, soooo... Might gonna change this behavior. -
@Stuxnet while I get some of your arguments (especially your 24/7 gamers one ) I don't understand why you require these users to give up their social media or other privacy ignorant services. Only because someone decided to leave their Snapchat map on, doesn't mean the person didn't give it a thought. There are people who genuinely like this feature and they know they can only use this feature if they give up some of their privacy and they know what they are getting into.
Furthermore I think some of these social medias try to respect your privacy as good as possible, and I think the GDPR is the best way to find out if they do. Instagram for example doesn't care about the GDPR and most likely doesn't care about your privacy, I never subscribed to a thing and they are sending me countless emails "hey, hey, come back, blablabla". Twitter on the other hand gave us a whole new interface (on mobile at least) to customize our privacy preferences.
This is my opinion at least... -
@devTea You can disable it on windows 10 too, I know because I did.. permanently... it just required some permission hacking and patience... aaaaand I've completely fucked up my PC in the process, but I had never to fear updates ever again, until I decided to reinstall my PC because this whole avoiding updates idea was completely bs. You can still avoid updates by disabling some services, then it's not permanent, but it still works most of the time.
Now I update my PC once every 3 months, or when there is an important security patch. -
I would love to contribute to such a project, I hope my skill-set matches the project's needs..
-
@rEaL-jAsE you're right, it doesn't, and sometimes the methods you find in the internet doesn't work with the rest of your website, so you either have to start from scratch with this centered box first and code everything else around it afterwards or you have to find an even better method.. that was my experience at least.

Never heard of this one ad which triggers your assistant and search for their product online? Can't remember what company it was... Burger King or McDonald's I think...

I would love to see the irl equivalent to more-furious-googling.mp3 and the other files...
