@i1990jain he is our "senior", when we first spoke about it I said a few lines of bash would be fine.
-
Fedora....
-
Or it could just be eventual consistency...
-
That's why Windows never makes decent server OS. Can't handle being on for so long
-
@wubstepper so you store the post keywords unencrypted in a map table pointing to a URL?
-
Also nothin states that this information is not hashed uniquely to a user, the user aggregate could have its own copy and separate context could just have the stuff piped through in order to for-fill this feature. Yes it is a shitty feature but the implementation doesn't have to be insecure. Especially if it is in a different database like users in MySQL and this feature in Redis or something.
-
@wubstepper how are you indexing posts for site searches etc? (Obviously would take to long to decrypt all posts and search every time someone search)
-
@DarkMukke aha I still have a PHP 6 book back from like 2008, that is why they skipped a version. Stop confusion
-
They just need separating out into integration tests, I normally have 3 folders inside my root test dir, unit, integration and acceptance.
-
*coughs* Fedora ftw.
-
@Leibi you mean just have a few assertions? Doesn't have to be a big Regex mess
-
I find that seniors at my place struggle to right good code too. It's like they've got where they need. I have one next to me who does 80% play and 20% work (the most terrible work) plus you'll find they don't want to move forward and learn new tech... the day I get to vent to him to his face will be an awesome day.
-
Sod that put a whole back door in, if they don't pay you take it down along with other infrastructure they may have.
-
Just make sure you don't go wild on inheritance. Inheritance does not always mean good abstraction.
-
@nuts native docker containers (even just cgroups) for a start.
-
@620hun try Fedora :D
-
@620hun I find that odd we all use Linux at work and the slowest guy is the "senior dev" and he runs Windows. He has to reinstall monthly...
-
I just got a raise with the less hours... He thinks I had to stay 12 hour days because it was a start up... 10+ year old company aha
-
Fedora ftw
-
From what we've hired in the past Uni grads are far worse then self taught, especially at debugging etc.
-
s/to/from/
-
Ace face we have 10 years worth of systems that all do different things, being on deadlines (which are fairly tight) doesn't really allow me to sit speaking for an hour solving problems for other people
-
Hmm I have enough time meeting deadlines. Having to constantly monitor services, deploy new services etc whilst developing isn't good that's what we need an operations guy for IMHO
-
Maybe that is true to many start ups, what city you work in?
-
Loool so me.
-
No self documenting code?
-
Docker is what I now use but currently having to use fleet but he's still using ispconfig without docker. I'd rather use Kubernetes but our resources are low, and also spin up VMs in seconds.
-
Aha I don't know how to take that, serious or sarki? But honestly some of my colleagues are scared to go forward and it's like rolling a square block.
-
Leicester UK, the city that just won premier league 💪🏻💪🏻

@simeg yes a lot can go on and be legal! I work 60 hours a week how ever the law is 48? Buts its money that keeps the world going round
