@Spam no need to apologise - good to hear there is no blood in the tea ;)
In that case my blood would be a mixture of tea and coffee :b
Anyway try to get some good rest ☺️ -
Maybe the person was drunk when building that :b
-
Suggest you to go to the doctor if there's blood. Also throw away the aspirin, avoid mixing it with green tea.
http://umm.edu/health/medical/...
"Blood Thinning Medications (Including Aspirin) -- People who take warfarin, a blood thinning medication, should not drink green tea. Since green tea contains vitamin K, it can make warfarin ineffective. Meanwhile, you should not mix green tea and aspirin because they both prevent platelets from clotting. Using the two together may increase your risk of bleeding."
If you are taking ibuprofen/paracetamol, you may wanna eat something or take some gastro-resistant tablets first.
I have a family friend like you - passionated with her job but overworked herself even skipped meals, she ended up with ulcer about 5 years ago.
Take good care of yourself. -
@DeadInside this plus I just find it rude. If your equipment is not working properly, say it, not just take a working one from others and claim it yours.
Btw would you swap your kids for lifetime supplies of coffee and pizzas? =b -
@gitpush that's the thing, I think I know who took it but then everything is standardised, so the only way to find my mouse is to check everyone's lol
But seriously I can't believe someone would just snatch other people's belongings like this - I was just sorting out some network issues with the sysadmin, when I turned around and it's gone!
WTH -
@norman70688 not when you are on a Windows machine lol
-
@Naptic I have spent hours trying to explain this to the management but they just listen and that's it. We have spoken to different service providers and every time we try to get the budget for it, the answer is "It's too expensive, this is not an option".
I don't think they even care about security, last time I talked to them about getting SSL and why we should have the sites secured - "Why do I have to pay so much just for a certificate".
Yeh I still haven't got my budget for SSL
I guess my only option is to build and train a classifier *sigh* -
@KartikShetty that would be my ultimate goal - get the machine to do the job instead of human
Would scikit-learn or TensorFlow a good place to start if I have to build our own classifier? or python would do the job?
Sorry if I am asking too many questions, this is pretty much my first machine learning related work in commercial environment. -
@heyheni We do use cloudflare, for all the sites actually, but it doesn't filter out all the bad bots?
This gives me quite a bit of headache because I don't know how and why we are still having malicious or non-human traffic -
@snypenet @justatshirt @gedankennebel awkward moment over there!
Don't want anything on criminal record you know ;) -
@Letmecode @theImposter I agree and usually the first approach I take but it's just PM keeps coming back with emails and tables....
FFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUU! *pulling hair*
Seriously, I have never meet someone that is so S(tubborn) H(opeless) I(ncompetent) T(edious) -
@snypenet I tried... didn't work at all. PM is a "my way or highway to hell" person, PM would refuse to use anything that changes the way PM works - even if it would speed up the process x10
-
@lukegv We used JIRA before, I love it (other Atlassian products too!) but PM didn't bother to log in and look.
Obviously doesn't like using anything other than tables... -
Wow i was planning to migrate all repositories to gitlab, bet it's going to be a big no-no now - at least not without another backup on bitbucket or github
Now no one can complain about wasting time doing manual backups! -
rolling in the deeeeeeeeep
*Tears are gonna fall, rolling in the deep* -
@iwakirinko with successful results lol
-
Congrats mate! :D
-
@mohammed and now they will have to eat the report & mark themselves as risks cause the site is broken - have warned not to do random reboot since it's poorly built
-
@Elkstorm They have been in troubles not just HR, but also with business partners and sponsors - more reasons to leave before shit happens.
-
@YHasRestricts I ask myself all the time - I must be a masochist or something :b
Joking aside, have been looking for new job but haven't tried hard enough and being very picky on jobs - I simply don't want my next job to be like this again, had enough with companies with no vision :( -
@rallport Weekend overtime is acceptable if it's urgent matter, unpaid is definitely wtf but now he is implying no one cares about the sites, brings out the contract terms and smack it on everyone's face, this is absolute disrespectful and fucking disgusting
-
@Elkstorm yup always cheaper and you will always get the blame for not maintain it properly.
Last time I spent the whole weekend bringing the other site back up and asked for OT "oh yes you can take days off"
fml -
@grolofson And while my boss motto is
"Pay you well under your market value, paid OT? pfttt stop daydreaming!" -
Get a cross platform framework, it will save you a headache.
But dude don't get too angry over this, if you're unhappy and this internship wouldn't give you any benefits (or damages) to you or your cv, then it's better to leave - no point stressing yourself like this.
Unfortunately there are lots of fuckers and companies like this out in the wild =/ -
3 years? LOL
Boss talks about it -> find someone to do it -> not happy with the quote/timeline -> on hold -> Boss brings it up again 3 months later -> find someone new -> not happy again..... endless cycle
We're wondering if we will actually get it done this year -
@zacpool yes it is illegal but since people at the top are real power players, they'll do things to make you leave or setting up traps so they can then dismiss you legally
-
@xroad @MicroNibble They used it as an excuse to fire her, she had a few (acceptable) clashes with PM, like unachievable targets - imagine ask to build Spotify in 3 hrs, of course the answer is NO please be realistic. But PM is a "do whatever you were asked to do" person, he took things personally and picked on her, I mean receiving a warning letter because of typos on emails?
Management are so messed up, if they know you're looking for new job, they'll find a lawful way to dispose you first.
