I FIXED THE FINAL BUG WITH MY OWN SOLUTION AND NOW IT WORKS, I EVEN SENT MY 5GB FUCKING TXT FILE.
ALTHOUGH IT TOOK FOREVER BECAUSE I FORGOT TO INCREASE THE BUFFER SIZE FROM 1KB SO IT TOOK A BIT.
BUT NOW ALL I NEED TO DO IS POLISH, MAKE SOME QUALITY OF LIFE CHANGES AND I CAN PUT THAT SHIT ON GITHUB!
THIS IS MY SECOND FINISHED PROJECT! But I do gotta thank an online friend that has been teaching me the concepts of network programming without him I couldn’t have done it. Also I’ve learned so much about how shit works thanks to him/and the project.12 -
"Hi, how are you?"
"Hi, how are you?"
The two separate individuals continue walking past each other in opposite directions. Zero information exchanged.
I hate small talk.12 -
The number of scripters and 'data scientists' that call themselves developers will increase, the true art of development will become sidelined and the world's code will become progressively more bloated and inefficient as the rift between hardware and software widens to an echoey chasm.
Then quantum processors will come along, requiring new logic, languages and practices, and once again the true developers will rise up and pave the way for a bunch of entitled, know-it-all and self-promoting QuarkaScripters to come along decades later and pretend like they invented programming. -
So... After reading up on the theoretical stuff earlier, I decided to make a real AI that can identify handguns and decide whether it's a revolver or a semiautomatic with 95 percent accuracy...
Well, basically, I been browsing my local gun store's online store for four hours for training data, killed a Mac mini while first training the system and I think I ended on the domestic terrorism watch list... Was that black sedan always there?
Anyway... It's working fairly accurate, my monkey wrench is a revolver by the way.
Isn't AI development a wonderful excuse for all kinds of shit?
"why do you have 5000 pictures of guns on your computer?" - "AI development"
"why did you wave around a gun in front of your web cam" - "AI development"
"why is there a 50 gram bag in your desk?" - "AI development"
Hmm... yeah well... I think it might work. I could have picked a less weird testing project, but... No.7 -
I spend 15 minutes writing a huge ass rant about my old boss. Then spent another minute proofreading it.
*Devrant has crashed*
*Opens app*
*Not saved*
Meh, so let's rant about that instead. 🤷♂️6 -
Put this in your build script for compile-time garbage collection:
find / -name "*.java" -type f -delete5 -
So at work today my coworker overlooked my laptop running Linux with i3.
Coworker: How do you live with this?
Me: What do you mean? This is customized to work with Git and my IDE efficiently while I do dev ops with my server.
Coworker: Your mouse barely works and you operate this thing totally on keyboard shortcuts. Linux will never be a serious platform.
Me: I'm not saying you or anyone at work has to use this, I built an environment to suite my needs. Same as anyone. I thought you liked consumer choice?
Needless to say we didn't get much further beyond him thinking I was nuts for configuring my server in the cli. I swear I don't understand why I try to explain anymore. 😡19 -
GNU'd just like to interGNU for a GNUment. What you’re GNUing to as GNU, is in fact, GNU/GNU, or as GNU's recently taken to GNUing it, GNU plus GNU. GNU is not an GNU GNUstem unto itGNU, but rather another GNUree GNU of a fully GNUing GNU GNUstem made GNUful by the GNU GNUlibs, GNU GNUtilties and vital GNU GNUponents GNUing a full GNU OS as GNUed by GNU. Many GNU GNUers run a GNUified GNUrsion of the GNU GNUstem every GNU, without GNUing it. Through a GNUuliar turn of GNU, the GNUrsion of GNU which is GNUly used today is often called “GNU”, and many of its GNUers are not GNU that it is GNUically the GNU GNUstem, GNUed by the GNU ProjGNU. There really is a GNU, and these GNUple are GNUing it, but it is GNU a GNU of the GNUstem they use. GNU is the GNU: the GNU in the GNUstem that GNUs the GNU’s GNU to the other GNU that you GNU. The GNU is a GNUtial GNU of an GNU GNUstem, but GNUless by itGNU; GNU can only GNUtion in the GNUtext of a GNUplete GNU GNUstem. GNU is GNUmally used in combiGNUtion with the GNU GNU GNUstem: the whole GNUstem is GNUsically GNU with GNU added, or GNU/GNU. All the so-called “GNU” distribGNUtions are really distribGNUtions of GNU/GNU.3

No Facebook for three weeks and haven't felt any need to check.
#DeleteFacebook.
Honestly, I didn't use it heavily but needed a motivation to leave it. So I take this as God sign to leave it.1 -
For some idiotic reason, I ran
UPDATE users
SET email="myname@mycompany.com"; in production.
No where clause. Oh drat.21 -
Dear junior programmers:
You will never get hired from what you learned at University
You have to study on your own, update your knowledge, practice at home and fail
The most important is to know which field to focus on10
