To be fair, Github commits are very easily manipulated.
But none the less, it looks like a busy January! -
Hey man, just know that we are all here if you need us! It’s like your party from across the world ;)
-
Congratulations on 11,000!

The trackpoint works well. It is pretty much 100% compatible besides WiFi and SD Card reader. I'm using an external WiFi card for a bit, until I get my internal card shipment. Other than that, if anyone wants to install it on their own x220, I followed the guides by mcdonnelltech.

Ah yes, I should clarify - I would be comparing this to the Pros of the time frame. The specs of this computer are 16GB DDR3-1333, i5-2510, Graphics 3000, 256GB SSD + 128GB mSata for about 250$ in price total, so it doesn’t break the bank compared to a MacBook. As for power, this is probably a early-2015 in terms of everything but display, and size. But, I’ll be installing a FHD in soon enough.

This is actually one of the primary reasons why I made the jump to a hackintosh. Gives me a Unix command line, escape from Windows, and let's me use the Adobe product suite without shelling out thousands for a macbook.

Sweet, this sounds great. I'm just going to be finalizing some stuff tonight, and early morning. Grabbing the basic domain names, and getting a repository setup with some basic information.
I'll tag everyone who want's in sometime tomorrow with a slack invite link to join in, and we can go from there! -
Haha, this is great! I’ll setup a communication channel so I can invite everyone to some real-time messaging platform. How do slack or gitter sound, or do you all have something else in mind?
Didn’t expect this much response :) Let’s get this started! -
I see that someone has recommended UpTerm though.
That looks promising, so I'm going to grab that tonight and check it out for a code session :) -
Alright, I've been using Hyper for roughly three months and I think I've finally formed an opinion on it. Let me just spew out some of the Pro's and Con's that I've managed to find:
Pros:
1. The terminal is cross platform meaning you can pickup with the same familiar feel wherever you go.
2. The terminal works well when you need it to, and doesn't break down when you don't.
3. The terminal is customisable since it is built on Electron, and has a somewhat approachable community.
Cons:
1. It is an electron application which means it can take up to 100MB's of RAM in one session. During just basic directory navigation sessions I have hit 60+MB RAM usage. While it may not seem like a lot, but terminals usually stay <5MB RAM usage.
2. It loads up slow. Like hellishly slow. I'm moving over to another terminal, and straight away it is noticeable. Hyper on Linux will take an easy 2-3 seconds to load up, which is unacceptable for a terminal.
Just my two cents :) I'm now moving to another. -
Try to get over to cryptocurrency. You can grab a prepaid card from cryptopay which lets you load your balance to use as a virtual card.

<p>Hello World!</p> -
I’m just wondering. What is there on Kali that you can’t accomplish by just installing the package under Elementary?
I haven’t actually used it beyond the occasional peek at it, so just wondering :) -
@AboMadhi - Lol, I was going down for about 10 minutes being surprised how every post was by you this morning, and wondering how you avoided that 2 hour post wait before I realized I had accidentally clicked on your profile, and was just going through your profile posts lol.
-
@kabhishek Lol, thanks. I was just scouring around some warehouse deals nearby and happened to land on one :)
-
@AkshatB - that is the Zhuque Teamwolf 87-key (aka tenkeyless board). It was my first mech, and I’m using it till I get the parts for the new one I’m building :)
It really is great, pretty affordable at 40$ (for a mech). -
@LinuxUser0001
It's not fancy but it's the one on the right.
Runs at a weird resolution of 1280x1080, but I can live with it, since it is only housing live changes for the moment. -
This looks very cool, and I’d love something like this!
Let me know if you ever need my help! -
Sent :)
Most of my ETH is currently in an exchange, since I'm doing some margin trading. But I used ShapeShift to send you some.
It's not a lot, but whenever you get more experienced, I'd love to send you some more to play with.
Don't blow it on gambling though!
Let me know if you have any questions, or just need help :) -
Oh no, apologies - didn’t forget :)
I was troubleshooting some issues today and completely forgot! Thanks for reminding me, lol.
I would have the same motivation if I were you! Expect something in the next few hours from me :) - just finishing some stuff up quickly. -
This looks great, just signed up. I’m on mobile so couldn’t right much, but can’t wait.
Great job guys! -
@axis Yeah, I think that address should work but I’ll double check none the less. Also, you won’t receive the payment until you are fully synced, but you should be able to see it on the block chain immediately.
As others have said, ethereum mining is taking its toll on the consumer GPU market. Really, no one can stop you from making a purchase - but my biggest advice would be to purchase second hand.
Cards like the 295x2, hd7990, 280x, 480x/580x are the best investments at the time.
Someone above has mentioned ASICS, but ethereum is a very anti-asic currency so I don’t see those being viable for the next few years (unless you count a server rack with multiple graphics cards an ‘ASIC’). That would be ironic as it is still the same thing then. -
It is never too late, pick up a card and start mining.
Send me your address and I’ll send you a bit just to play around with, and explore the eco-system! -
Ohhh I see that onion sticker. Not many people I know have that one :)
-
Hey I, I’m Indian but not living in India at the moment - in Canada, so it is good. In India it is sort of like a borderline thing so I’ve heard.
-
Hey mate,
Bitcoin is such a volatile currency that you never know. I invested right before the last crash earlier this month, and it has paid off relatively well.
It’s like a long term investment, where it rebounds over and over. But then again, that’s just my experience :)
Try getting into some newer currencies like Ethereum? -
Wow, this is legit.
Thanks! -
Hey my first post on here :).
Just wondering, where did you see them offering 100gb? I can’t seem to find it?
Thanks!
