So i was contributing to this project on github with a dangerously close (self-assigned) deadline and my friends called me to play some DotA. Well, i can say i didn't let anyone down.7

It's a perfect chronological sequence from left to right:
"I'll fix this bug in a jiffy"
"Fml i can't figure out whats wrong"
"I give up on life"
and then finally "Oh look, missing semicolon"

A couple of weeks back, I met some of the kids from my old school. They had joined together to form a small team and were designing and deploying websites for local businesses.
Turns out that they were mailing each other and using Dropbox to manage the source code. This had been going on nearly for an year.
I spent a couple of hours showing them how to use git and gitlab. Basics on committing, pushing, pulling, branching and merging.
I will never forget the look on their faces! They had seen God and its name is Git.7 -
A couple of weeks ago I posted about me making my own reclaimed desk, after a long process of sanding and oiling constantly here is the finished product and I couldn't be happier10

I appreciate all of your suggestions to improve devRant but I've a counter suggestion to make. Please do not post silly ideas. We should not try to make this community another Facebook or Twitter. Let's keep it simple and plain. We're better than non-dev users in many ways.5

I was talking with some of my co-workers about the rise of all these package managers (and one I came across for Windows), and this thought occurred in my silly head:

The way most of us devs are spending time on devRant, it seems @dfox might need to introduce a feature named "Reminder" in the app to let devs know that they need to get back to code.1

...He hired a shit dev who did the same work in 3 times less than what I asked for.
He's now back crying to fix his Fuck up.
You ask how I know he is shit. He SSH-ed into the server. Worked directly off the production files. Worst of all, he installed phpmyadmin, changed the db structure without even writing a fucking migration !!!
How the hell am I supposed to know what he changed!! It's gonna be a long night 😥5 -
I wish i could code for 8 hours straight instead of getting interrupted every 20mins. That would be the life7

Spent the entire day trying to solve a bug yesterday. Came to work today, solved in 5 minutes.
This is why I love and hate my job.1
