Worst thing about working on products for big companies is they force full support of IE and refuse to move forward. If it was edge I wouldn't care at least it works ok and keeps on to of standards fairly well
-
That's edge

Set 2 variables to the value of the highest reputation and the lowest down votes, then just select from where equal to those values
-
It has to be for a game or 3d application surely. The unreal engine compiles down to 25mb of asm.js min/gzip so could be a smaller library than it.

@Stuxnet well done universities require some prior knowledge. I recall done universities I looked at in the UK's required an A level (highest non university qualification here) in computing/computer science and maths. It's quite rare though.
-
@Stuxnet I guess it depends on what knowledge is assumed at the beginning of the degree. Some courses taught from the start while others expect prior experience. I assume that person's degree was the latter.
-
@billgates I used to use AAA VR cinema I think it was called with Google cardboard. My OPO got warm but never overheated using it. Don't know if it works with daydream.
-
Too much friction?
-
Look at LowSpecGamer on YouTube if you want help getting games running on this thing. He's done a few videos on it.

Finally! Some love for Windows Phone. That platform they abandoned when it didn't make money... 🤔🤔

The Man with the Iron Heart and Anthropoid. Both are about the same assassination attempt on someone in Nazi occupied Czechoslovakia. Really interesting story. Not sure which of the 2 movie I recommend though.
Dunkirk is also a good recent one for war movies! -
Point is that it is ridiculous that Microsoft removed a simple button to do it.
-
@angryMoFo wish gigabit providers were quicker. I guess it's difficult for them to rapidly expand. The whole OpenReach system did and Virgin idag available in a lot of places so there is no *real* competition. Whether it's EE, TalkTalk or BT, they can only compete on price and can't even lay cables themselves to attract customers.
-
I downloaded like 20gb of porn once too, I feel your pain!

There's no best laptop, just go with whatever appeals to you most in your budget. Consider specs, size, screen, brand etc. Have a look if there's a custom laptop distributor in your area, PCSpecialist laptops are often very good and can be customised to preference. But they are mainly UK and some of mainland Europe.
-
You should tell them to add more buzzwords, that will attract a crowd!

@malformedshrub the all of it part :/
Tbh I had to do level design a lot, we lost mostly artists and that's the only part a programmer can get away with. -
Well I can give you the rundown of my game development module at uni.
We had a really cool idea.
People disappeared.
We scaled back design.
People continued to disappear.
We scaled back again.
People still gone.
The few remaining out of 12 original members did all the missing work from the other members in the last week on about 1hr sleep a night.
It was a shit show. 4/10 probably wouldn't recommend to a friend. -
I once optimized a page that would execute 8 queries per store on our site. Some of our users have over 10000 stores :/
-
@lotd gdrive does have some form of version control. No idea if you can compare versions though
-
Well HTML 5 often refers to not just HTML 5 but newer versions of JavaScript and CSS. They are probably looking for someone with all round front end experience
-
😥😥 bad memories... Of last week. 11 people, 5 of which were artists (game project). 3 artists disappeared for the majority of the project. Had to do level design myself 😞
-
@thatJavaGuy I still think even with that you'd be good for an hour easily. You could get one of those power measurement tool things to see?
-
As long as you aren't doing anything intensive on the PC, a UPS should survive that long if not more. 300w UPS on a modern computer can be 2 hours if you aren't gaming or stressing the CPU. They use very little in idle especially if you don't have a high end GPU or lots of hard drives and fans etc.

Looks pretty nice, I wonder if Vivaldi will take any of the changes on board. I hope I can hide the user button now, I've had to resort to calling myself . Just to make it minimal. Still wasted space.
-
I love knockout, only used it for actually interactive websites though.
-
@RantSomeWhere oh I thought they changed their warranty policy with the newer phones?
-
I'm still rocking a OnePlus One. What a phone! I wish they'd kept the whole easy custom ROM thing with their newer phones, but they are too mainstream now. So mainstream they put a stupid damn notch in the 6 :(
-
@Guitaraholic wouldn't the rpi/python version be far better for that?
-
@deusprogrammer by web platform do you mean plugins? If so, how can you recommend that to anyone. Plugins are dying and insecure. Should not be usable on modern browsers!
