@juneeighteen oooooooohhhhhhh that's a good one. let's hope in 2 years I will not confuse source and symbolic lol
-
tar -xvf filename
the hardest for me is actually using ln -s, keep forgetting if source should come first or later lol -
@rantalicious if that one text was work related, I also know that she spends the entire day on facebook so 🤔
I'm really ok if they want to enforce no texting etc, but just don't be a hypocrite in front of me 😌 -
Ah, I can totally see the point. The online thing, I don't think it would attract users as much if they had not seen any demo online. But yeah I hadn't think about it before.
However I still think this is a nice progress to move towards encryption with less hassle, which I really like. -
@jckimble full disclosure, I am a college student interested in crypto though won't be in any crypto/security class until next semester.
what kind of "sacrifices on security" that you think? I could not think of one since I first signed up but I'm also a n00b.
but yeah, the ideas you list out is very interesting! I'm really into these things just haven't given enough time to study further yet. -
keybase maybe?
-
@chadd17 definitely doing it on my last day of work lol
-
Worst part is I paid $200 to access the site for my grades and they use millions of pop ups with flash.
-
@danzig666 cli ftw. git reset --hard
-
@DirtyBit I'm not complaining with i3 because the battery life right now can reach ~10 hours. my laptop charger never even go out with me to work/class.
-
@DirtyBit oh lol totally missed that one my bad
-
@nmunro true, my pc is always on at home so I don't use my raspberry pi for this anymore haha
-
@DirtyBit if your chromebook is not playing well with it anymore at some point, AWS Lightsail / DigitalOcean droplet might be a good choice
-
@Makenshi I hate both Tortoise and Git GUIs, but the nature of SVN is not my style (centralized) and I find too many SVN users rely on Tortoise vs Git users who use Git GUI.
-
@DirtyBit mine's a Dell Chromebook 13 i3 / 4GB with IPS touchscreen for $280. and also I'm "running heavy processes by ssh to my desktop" so even Celeron would work for me[citation needed].
-
@Jop- oh okay I guess I was following a wrong guide on that part. Now I'm not sure what's the difference but I have chrx going fine for me so...
// TODO: figure out crouton -
@RodrigoF lol no, Indonesia. We were a huge producer of coffee back then and that's how people call coffee as "java"
edit: we're actually still producing a lot, though now you can get coffee from many origins -
@Qaldim I notify my coworkers about new Java update, does that count?
-
@Jop- I use chrx which is a tool to prepare the env for dual boot. Crouton iirc is running Linux distro inside Chrome OS (something like VMware)
-
@GreyCatastrophe I mean it's basically a "cheap" laptop with confirmation that Linux runs well in it. I don't think I can find a cheaper Windows alternative of same spec with similar price...
