I'm glad that innovation in pocket industry has finally started catching up, carrying all these things has gotten tiring.

@hypervtechnics woosh
-
If it's not a repost from r/imsosmart, then someone post it there, they'll love you for it
-
@pionell no idea, sorry. It was enough for me to realise how much valuable time I was wasting, and deleting few apps to stop procrastinating (for most part anyway)

@linuxxx Regarding the misguided - I am solely and intentionally focusing on the fact, that facebook has been the only platform which has been getting shit for the recent data leak debacle. For the said instance (look up facebook+cambridge analytica terms on search engine of choice for more details) that's completely fine, however the scale of the response and only targeting of one platform/company, seems misguided in my eyes as this isn't a "single company single issue" type of a problem (might post links once I'm more free) and is closer to almost being a norm in digital world/economy. I'm afraid that once the hashtag dies down and everyone forgets about the fact that same poor data protection practice's are everywhere, we're (for intents and purposes I mean persons in western hemisphere) going to back to square one.

@linuxxx Certainly, misinformation I'm referring to here is the form of illinformed and/or strong opinion/bias centric debates/comments/threads found on many social platforms. Most of which are based on flawed logic and/or premises which are untrue. (Aware of the scale and pervasiveness of the issues, but believe that having healthy debate culture might be worth investigation as a preemptive measure)

Haha idiots, everyone knows you need a js framework or at least cryengine for responsive pages

Please tell me that "click here" just skips the authentication step

@graic looks like the floor, but I might be wrong

There's plenty more tho :S

Asshole AND doesn't want to pay for people's labour? Fuck, that dimwit might actually have a million dollar idea

@tentsuriki np, there's usually a set "must read" items for different parts of the industry, like you'll come across "Clean code" and "pragmatic programmer" if you're interested in dev side of things, both of which are great books, fortunately/unfortunately I managed to cover the topics at work and figured out the advantages/disadvantages of naming/testing/threading without need for the book, but otherwise they would've been even better. Either way the must reads are usually a good start and then you should start figuring out what's worth reading!
-
Agree with @Pseudonymous, and I personally would say both, but books first. A well written book will give you a good understand of fundamentals, and generally be a good source of information, but researching things is good in terms of making sure you fully understand what the author is talking about and how tech discussed in the book has faired in modern times etc.
Also expert insight can be a good source to figuring out what you truly care about and what to "google". But that's just what I can say from what I've seen, and it may not apply to you. -
That is true, but it's a risky choice to mindlessly follow manager suggestions. You might get the promotion, but if the suggestions lead to complete mess how likely is the manager to take responsibility (Taking into consideration you provided suitable amount of insight and conveyed the issues to the manager) and not throw you under the bus?

@SpiDee just look on retailer websites, they have more than enough filters to help you find a device to meet those requirements

Hope you get well soon!

A location based pokémon game would be neat

But, that's thrEe words 😓

It's tough out there, took me ~12 months to find an internship (lazy + constant rejection got to me at one point).
One of major problems is that many companies/hr departments have this mentality that training juniors takes away from senior's time and thus only incurs loss of profit (not true and idiotic, but what can you do?). Which then leads to them only seeking mid-senior level personnel. This leads to whole bunch of other nasty issues which I won't get into...
Either way, I'd say growing thick skin to rejection, constant self improvement and relentless search will lead to something, eventually. -
Good observation, never considered legacy products to use technology that may be obsolete now
-
Write a small js script and run it through jsfuck and you're sorted!

Haven't touched it since they tried teaching us web dev in highschool. Currently the little web dev that I do, is through VS
@Charon92 summarised it quite well tbh ++ -
Oxford dictionary defines it as;
"Speak or shout at length in an angry, impassioned way." -
@Chlodovechus as long as my stuff doesn't interfere with the business, they don't care. Pretty sure that's what most companies are like. Unless you work for some dodgy place that can't wait to steal their employees IP, you'd be fine, especially if it's not a commercial piece of software
