Btw, after trying their XML version, changing my password (in case around 27 chars might be too long), checking the C# sample as well (I don't even code in C#), trying out in different environments, and checked our contract, whether it includes API access, I've contacted their support.
After confirming the credentials (without the password of course), they said, it "should be working, the problem is not on our end". -
@vane Oh no, I'm not intend to sell it. Wasn't really planned that way either. It is really something that only useful for us. Besides, I will have my hands full of fixing my shit, and adding new stuff, I don't want to maintain it for someone else as well, that's too much pressure for me. :)
My question was directed towards how much companies charge for this type of work, not how much I can sell it for. -
@vane
The customer base is around 2k but only like 5-700 are regulars.
One of our suppliers got a new woocommerce site recently. I haven't asked him how much he payed, but according to your answer, sure a lot, compared to the clusterfuck he got.
I'd like to think that mine is better than that, but still far from enterprise. :) -
@molaram Sadly can't really show it. Even if I could, most of it is untranslated, since it only ever be seen by us.
I agree, that there are parts that could have been provided by 3rd party or open-source solutions, hell, even maybe 80% of the whole could have been covered, but that wouldn't have been perfectly tailored and smooth for our taste. Since money and time didn't really matter, I was aimed to something, that 100% fulfills our needs.
It was a pet project, and I wasn't really got payed for it, the company is partly mine so I've done it for my sake as well. I consider it a good learning opportunity, and if the company can grow because of it, than it is a win-win situation. -
@Fast-Nop
The first one. That's why I know that I won't find the solution here, it is not even in my power to fix it. I was just looking for some insider info, if any.
Edit: sorry for confusing you. -
@Fast-Nop
Error is sent immediately after I hit the send button. DNSBL returns all OK, my provider really cares about blacklisting issues.
They mentioned that GMX told them that someone tried to connect to them from the shared ip my server is on, but they are denying that they've placed a block.
Although my provider confirmed that not only the exact ip, but the whole range (.0/24) can't access them.
Sadly since I am just a customer in this case my options are limited. I believe that my provider already find the rogue account and made the necessary measures and we are only waiting for the non-existing block to be raised. -
@Fast-Nop
You really think that it wasn't the first thing that i've tried? I am that rare type of person who doesn't call the support as soon as something goes down. I try to find and fix the problems myself, and when I am failing to do so, only then I will ask for help.
But fyi it is a 'failing for a long time - retry time not reached' message. Literally I can't do anything about it, since I am not the sysadmin there, nor have I the appropriate privilages to adjust anything on the server.
My post was in a desperate hope, to find someone who might know about this certain issue, since it seems like my hosting provider pretty much can't do anything. -
@JoshBent
I've tried hosting my own, lasted for two weeks i guess. It's still giving me nightmares.
Paying is not a problem, since we already paying for our existing solution.
Thanks for the suggestions I will look into them. -
@JoshBent
Right now I'm replying from a gmail address, and it works, but i wanted to avoid google as a data processor. So it seems that literally the only solution would be to switch providers or host my own mail server on the vps, but that didn't work out well the last time I'd tried. -
@JoshBent
I might not understand your comment completely or i wasn't clear phrasing my question.
We have our own domain, we are located in a different country even. Our customers are using GMX and I am not able to reply them because my mails are bouncing. They claim (GMX), that they got no blocking in place, but my hosting confirmed that from a different range they are able to access them without problem.
And the whole thing stopped right there. No progress for a month.
I can't tell my customers to stop using that piece of shit right? 😅 -
I barely, if never, see any ads. I've got my lists from filterlists.com it has nice filtering optios, so you can find what you need. Firebog.net also has some nice lists, though I've only used the common whitelist from there.

@Chill its a Pi3 model B
-
@Chill here is the status from the pihole's web interface. It is just running for 2days and I don't have anything else to do with the pi right now, so haven't really stress tested it.

I think it's not the framework's fault. Almost the first thing what the docs says is that .env files shouldn't be reside in a publicly accessible folder. If someone didn't see that, at least must have enough brainpower to realise if I put the .env file in the public folder it will be available PUBLICLY.

@gothran
At least they gave me a sample request so now I've found the mistake, and once the structure of the request is alright they give proper error messages. But would have been good if I didn't have to inspect my input line by line just to find out that one property is an array of objects instead of an object that's stated in the docs. -
And this one from the documentation. A required property (Igen -> required: yes) with a fucking TODO. And no, that asterisk doesn't point to any description either.
-
@login
Well the thing I am calculating is proprietary, so sending it to myself was only possible with distinct authorization. Basically nothing should leave our intranet.
The company also have its own HPCC (High Performance Computing Cluster), but we don't have access to it here. -
@Linux
Well sure thing. I think I move back my emails to the shared crap we had before. It's cheap and at least managed, and on the email side we never had issues. I failed the spam filtering miserably anyways. :) -
@Linux
Now this might be a stupid question, but is it that much of a problem? (This is my first time doing something like this) -
@Linux
No. I'm just their customer. I rent a vps from them, which hosts our website and mail server. -
@Linux
So basically I should contact both Microsoft and my provider as well. So fucking glad it's a 4days long national holiday, so I will only be able to speak with my provider on Wednesday. Surely our new customer with the hotmail account will understand... -
@Linux
They said in the report, that I should contact my service provider since part of my network is blocked. This mail server sits on a VPS at a hosting company. Could it be that they are the reason why I am blocked, or the hostname mismatch is enough reason for it? -
@elcore
Nice, will do. Thank you. :) -
@elcore
And should I wrote to them (I've found a form online), or will the issue auto resolve itself? -
@elcore
SPF DKIM and DMARC was set up correctly I had a hostname mismatch in my reverse DNS record, which according to mxtools is fixed by now.
I've also found our IP blacklisted at two places, requested removal already. -
@olback
I like it too, it's not an issue I won't be able to live with. -
@olback
Yes -
@ymas
Default is password, but I will do the key authentication once I'm home. For start I've changed the default port. -
@Merkury
I know... I simply can't explain why they decided its a good idea. Going to try and change it, since i finally have access to it. -
Yeah. Ansys with Fluent.
