At my high school, we used JCreator for a while, and some of us started using IntelliJ because it's just the best, but our teacher started telling us to use BluJ because it has a debugger. Felt like going from a nice Tesla to a toy Corolla.

That's cool. I just got my first job and the first items I plan on buying is a OP5 and XPS 15.

@m0fo well right now it's just stuff for high school, but I'll have the laptop through college and I want to be able to work on it and not worry about lack of performance because it's a laptop and not a desktop.

@Kira0204 actually that's a really good idea tbh. I have this course on ethical hacking on udemy. I don't know how good it is but it's sure to teach me something. Maybe if I can hack into their Network and prove their security sucks, I can offer to tell them what's wrong with it and/or how to fix it for less restrictive internet. Or better yet, admin privileges.

1) Yes, we've all been through AP. At my school it's required to move on to CS III.

2) For now, we have to use it. I think she just wants us to learn to use a step debugger, which like I said we could just use IntelliJ or Eclipse, and eventually we'll get to use whatever IDE we want. What sucks is that the original CS teacher (who still works there, he just doesn't teach CS3 anymore) had IntelliJ installed on all of the PCs in his room, and his students get to use that.

@SoulSkrix lol, if this was a 9th grade cs1 class I'd understand. But this is CSIII. Most of us are Juniors and seniors, and we've all been through AP comp sci. We're all familiar with OOP, inheritance, etc. Sure, we might need a bit of review from last year, but not so much that we need to use a completely different ide for it.

@linuxxx I don't use WhatsApp either. I wasn't talking about lagging behind in using popular services. I just meant that not using a smart phone leaves you the odd one out.

@runfrodorun I wasn't talking about ui. The iPhones are terribly designed. They've got no innovation. No headphone jack. Terrible screens. Too high prices. iOS is actually pretty good, it's just user preference. I was talking about the phone itself.

And by not using a phone you're just letting the rest of society to continue to advance while you lag behind.

@runfrodorun hmm... Ugh but iOS sucks and iPhones are too expensive. And they don't have a headphone jack! And the iPhone 8 models are fucking ugly as hell. Do you just settle or do you genuinely enjoy using an iPhone?

@runfrodorun let's agree to disagree. Besides, I'm only 16, I don't have much to lose, or any reason to really worry about security right now. I've used both iOS and android and the only way to customize iOS to the way I'd want it is if I jailbroke it, which just voids the warranty.
