A laptop isn’t a good investment if you aren’t going to be travelling much. I’d personally recommend a desktop PC but since you’re not into online games and stuff, PS5 would be a solid choice for you. If you want the portability, you can invest in a Steam Deck in the future.

@webketje I’ve read this article before, it’s quite interesting. The PR (and the associated branch) still contains the commit history, so even though you can’t really see the commits individually on the main branch, you can still see the commit history in a “non-squashed” way on the PR and the associated branch. It might be tedious for some, but it’s been working well for me so far.
In the end I think it comes down to what you find works best for you and the team. -
What’s wrong with merge commits? I usually squash and merge my PRs.

Just let people know it’s too much for the sprint and you probably won’t be able to get everything done.
Prioritise the tasks. If you don’t know which ones are important, then ask the responsible people and get the important tasks first. It’s really not a big deal. -
I thought I was on LinkedIn for a sec…

In consulting this usually happens when the client doesn’t want to spend the budget for a proper fix and opt for the bandaid approach instead.

This is me trying to work on my side-projects after a full day of intense work
-
Probably broke some core feature

I can relate to this and reading this made me irrationally angry >:(
-
@tosensei how does using a light theme make anyone incompetent? It’s just a preference
-
For the uninitiated, WITCH are the following companies:
- Wipro
- Infosys
- TCS
- Cognizant
- HCL
- (additionally) Accenture -
@nitnip wow that dependency injection is something else. Reminds me of a legacy project I worked on that was developed before composer was widely used.
-
I… I actually prefer light themes. I feel like it keeps me awake :’)
-
B2B would like to have a word with you
-
@jespersh They look really good but I wish they supported NFC payments…

Hey, you might be having a real shit time right now but life is worth living no matter what. It might not feel like that right now, but it is. I don’t know what you’re going through, but please keep living and know that this too shall pass.
I think you’re from Italy, so if you want somebody to talk to and you don’t have anyone to talk to right now, here’s the phone number for Telefono Amico Italia: 199 284 284 -
Hey, hope today was better. It’s the weekend now so recharge your batteries and forget about work.

Where’s the update OP @FuckJava
-
@Grumm similar stuff with Germany, literally everything is dubbed and unless you live in Berlin, you will need German at some point.
-
No you're asking for too much, stop being so unreasonable.
Oh by the way look at our shiny new support package, starting from only $9999 a year for small businesses, and you should shoot us an e-mail to learn about the enterprise pricing :) -
@lotd it's Magento 2...
-
@electrineer well, I could probably say no, but my residence permit is tied to my employment. I'm going to be quitting as soon as I find another job so I'm just enduring it until then. Can't give a company name but I'm located in a country that starts with G and ends with Y in Europe.
-
@electrineer it is where I live unfortunately. If it isn't specified in the contract, the employer doesn't have to pay overtime.
-
Too relatable. I've been applying to other jobs but haven't found anything yet... I feel so defeated, feels like I'm stuck at this shitty job forever man.
-
@KennyTheBard speaking of personal experience, they can be stuck in a company if they're a foreigner that has a residence permit tied to that specific job.
-
@iiii clearly no, but there are other things that I despise about the workplace as well
-
@asgs sorry friend it was port 80 today
-
@asgs I hope I don't have to spin up tomcat tomorrow then
-
Literally right after I posted this, the fucking thing decides to kill apache...
