@Demolishun is this bank by any chance. This was the norm when I used to for one. 10 years ago they were still running on Windows XP and only upgraded ro Vista before I left
-
@IHateForALiving @tosensei that’s not serious. Those people should be put on improvement plan if not sacked
-
Do people actually blame GPT for their own mistakes?
-
Might need to create a separate bot just to downvote his ringpiece related nonsense. Literally every single one of his posts to be exact
-
This dude needs help seriously.

Last I flew with IndiGo the cheap fuckers had an entertaining system but obviously didn’t pay for a licence and I had to look at their logo for 7 hours

@kiki i always ask what the interview process is like. If it involves leetcode then I drop. I’ve been on both sides of the process and in most cases I don’t think such tools bring any value into the job.
-
Hope they have their user passwords hashed and not in plain text when stored. Mind boggling in this day and age there is still companies storing passwords in plain text. How hard it is to use bcrypt
-
Everybody fails an interview at some stage. Don’t be afraid to show up on interviews, you can use that opportunity to ask questions, check what questions are asked etc. Use this knowledge to learn from your mistakes. This will only make you more prepared for the next one increasing your chances.
-
@retoor everything is easy once you know how 🤣
-
@AlgoRythm fair enough. Can you use the likes of ChatGPT to convert the plain English test cases into code and then use them for testing your code?
-
In reality you invest in mastering algorithms to pass your interviews. Then you get hired and work on a tickets to change a colour of a button or call an API. The sad truth is that most interviews nowadays don’t focus on practical examples. If one really needs to know how to sort a binary tree then so be it, but chances are you’ll be wasting money on irrelevant knowledge on Leetcode. That’s my 2 cents on this topic 🤣
-
They have to notify all parties involved. Clock is ticking. Big hit in customer trust and possibly hefty fine coming their way
-
They’re either gone or doing a great job. Or possibly the spammers gave up. Either way the final result is a SPAM free DevRant 🤣

Out of curiosity what’s wrong with Angular?

Chairs. Really 🤦♂️

@retoor well I normally express my opinion and provide arguments to back it up. It is up to the management to take action. If shit hits the fan my favourite phrase is "I told you so". It is very hard to strike a balance when it comes to software development. I've worked with people who had wet dreams when talking about architectures and then over engineered the shit out of everything. On the other side of the spectrum there is this guys that do fuck all and don't give a rats ass to what happens. I also want to get things done, but when trying to avoid issues I've seen in previous companies I then encounter new ones. Our industry does not cease to amaze me sometimes :)
-
@retoor Oh I have plenty of rant worthy content lately :) At the beginning people's stupidity was really bothering me, but lately I find myself just accepting it. Not sure if this is just me getting old, or I gave up on trying to make things right.
-
@retoor SPAM is all they do. No idea how it works, or how they make money but devRant being on autopilot doesn't help either.
-
@retoor yeah downvoting them doesn't seem to stop them. Not sure if those posts are automated or someone is manually registering and posting SPAM here.
-
@retoor hm I can downvote a spam post and it would disappear for me with just my -1 vote. But who knows. Not sure what’s with the surge of SPAM posts lately. Very annoying
-
There is a lot of spammers lately. I can downvote the spam messages and they disappear from my threads, not sure if its just me that can’t see them once downvoted or they disappear for everyone else as well.
