Don't blame the technology, blame the implementor. Most usual gradle problem I encounter is when it's migrated from something else hoping gradle solves it, but usually it's just convoluted builds doing way too much. Try to make builds smaller with several jars in some artifact repository depending on each other, rather than rebuilding everything each time. There's very rare situations where that is a real necessity.
Oh and gradle daemon..it is controversial, but does pay the benefits when it works.
Only thing I hate and love abut gradle is "I don't care" backward incompatible changes on minor version bumps.

I like to keep them relevant to the context. If it's some private variables it's np to name them shorter. And as always.. Name things what they are. It usually means contemplating longer than writing, but it quickly pays off.

@Froot I have a mixed opinion. We try to rollout MVPs to target groups and measure, track, feedback on the features. It's not super 21st century yet, but when you got 5M+ users it starts to make more sense. Otherwise it will take a year to do everything business imagines. #financeenterprise

I have a similar story for a photographer. The transition page is now up and running.... for 4 years now. I reverted to yearly reminders together with a notice to pay the bills for the hosting and domain name.
