You can't fool me, Satya Nadella.
-
You don't have to censor your h*cking swears.
I feel you though. It's hard to debug so many moving pieces. -
When I switched back to Gnome, I added it as a shortcut.
-
Realize LaTeX exists, reopen that editor. 😎
-
I've never heard of these movies, but the poster is already selling me. Time to find the first one.
-
@dotdeb 😘 maybe. console.log sorta gives it away.
Seriously though, that code is so arcane, it could be another language. This is just fuel for my JS hate fire. -
MacBook Pro will work fine, but you can spend the same amount for a better machine from nearly any other manufacturer and toss Ubuntu on it, since that's what you like.
-
What language is that, so I can NEVER use it?
-
Is that sort of like saying programming makes me multi-lingual?
-
@kkalem building PCs together is also an excellent bonding time, even if my job was mostly to hold a flashlight.
When I finally built my own machine from scratch, I made him hold the flashlight -
The album Four Phantoms by Bell Witch. It's the most crushing doom metal I've ever heard. It's only four tracks, but the shortest is 10 minutes and the longest is 22.
It's not for everyone. But, it helps me get into the zone. -
I find that planning meals in advance, buying all the ingredients you need, helps. Also slow cooker recipes that I can start in the morning and are done when I get home (and they're basically impossible to mess up, which is a bonus).
Also, freezer friendly foods like soups and stews are great because they can be made healthy and will stretch a long time. -
I assume you mean the hint? Yeah, it's dumb. You can remove it later though.
-
"still fully backwards compatible with existing React-based applications". Not all is lost.
-
@Bikonja yep, that's exactly it. It's the same reason I often answer my own question when writing a stack overflow question.
-
You don't actually have to talk to a duck, but you *can* often figure out your problem by explaining your code to someone/something else.
-
It also depends on the dimensions of the package. Something heavy can be easy to carry if it's dimensions allow.
-
Your home screen is an icon fueled nightmare.
-
Uh, what's with the font? 👀
-
you shouldn't be in the interview if you don't know this one.
-
This is probably the most relatable rant on the site.
I mean, there's no context or anything, but I feel it. Those computers are cray cray. -
Someone already mentioned personal projects (which are fantastic and can really set you apart), so I'll give something else.
What helped me was being able to talk honestly about failure and what I learn from it. A common interview question is something like "tell me about a time you were in charge of a team". And I tell them honestly about my experience as project manager on my senior project and the many mistakes I made doing it. Importantly though, I talk about how I learned from those mistakes and the ways I won't make them again now that I've learned.
You get to take your mistakes and make them positive. It can also help the interviewers relate, since it's likely they've made the same mistakes.
Other than that, just try your best to relax and be personable. -
Maybe a few years ago. Now it's reversed since Apple devs have to carry around 47 dongles for their Donglebook Pro.
-
This sounds nice, but I'm pretty sure it's terrible advice. Comment your code.
-
It also doesn't help that Minecraft is written in badly optimized Java. (Or was last I ran it.)
-
🙌 did this just today on some R code. It was a long, complex one too.
-
We all start somewhere. Using the internet and references isn't a crutch - even the pros do it.
-
@linuxxx Oh. 😶

@JerreMuesli Mystery Science Theater 3000. It was an old TV show. The whole premise was that they showed really bad movies and made fun of them.
There was a Kickstarter to bring it back, and the first new season was just released on Netflix. -
It's one thing to take a picture of your screen.
You went the *extra* mile for the filter. 👏
