WHOA
My grandpa just gave me 100$ for fixing his TV:
-And here is you paycheck son...
-What? Noo, it was literally 2 minutes factory reset, I don't need this :D
-Oh come on. I'm not paying you because you because you pressed some buttons. I pay you, because you exactly knew which buttons to press. Now, take it!
Truly, the man of honor...12 -
Apple just announced a new 6k monitor. The stand for it is NOT included and will cost $1000.
This snapshot of the presentation is meme-worthy.
...People will still buy it.31 -
Sorry if I make a typo, my hands a still a little shaky, just had to stop myself from crying.
This morning I came in, opened my email, saw an automated response from Jira saying .... saying ..... saying the backend team provided details about their new endpoint.
After a year of screaming, they finally did it. It was so beautiful I fell to the floor and wept like a baby.
Thank you all for your support through this difficult time. Together we can accomplish anything!!!7 -

My mom never touched a PC or smartphone. Well, most people didn't back then, because it was the early 90s.
But I brought a borrowed SNES to the hospital and taught her to blow on the Zelda cartridge if it didn't work. She died after we finished the game.
After that my dad bought me a commodore 64, the machine that taught me about electronics and programming, and molded me into who I am today.
On the first date with my girlfriend (now 12y together) we just sat talking for hours in her room, playing Zelda on her SNES taking turns, and I told her my mom would have liked her.14 -

GAHHHHHHHHHH! Damn USPS!!! Privatize them already! Stolen is more like it. It was a Gigabyte Aorus X470 Mobo, an AMD Ryzen 5 2600X CPU, and 16GB of memory. The postal service is a bloated, unresponsive, government run trainwreck. If people would just stop using them, they would shrivel up and blow away. ARRGH!!! 🔥☠️🔥☠️🔥23

How to comply with GDPR on any website and web application:
- download the law and store it in some folder
- if you have money, pay a lawyer and a security consultant to write something about GDPR. Download reports and papers and store it in some folder
- Don't touch your code, nor your database nor your infrastructure. If you don't have anything encrypted, leave it like that.
- Write somewhere a popup that says: "we are fully compliant with GDPR". If you have still money left you can also buy such a popup.
- DONE.2 -
Multi-billion dollar company - don't write fucking changelogs
At least write "Fixed some fucking bugs" or something...
Is it that hard?11 -
What the actual fuck GitHub/CircleCI?!??
I transformed a GitHub account into an organisation and lost admin access to a repo even though I'm the owner of the organisation. Now I can't even access the settings for the repo on CircleCI. What the hell? WHAT THE HELL?!!?! THE FUKKKKKKKKKKKk? -
I asked collegue about status of component thru Skype (different countries, you know) and received answer he's leaving company in 8 days. FML.1

*This morning*
HR Lady: we saw your profile and we think it fits what we're looking for, I just need to know what you use for front-end programming
Me: I use ReactJs, AngularJs and for backend NodeJs
HR Lady: Hmm, so you don't use Javascript
Me: ... (unhandled exception in my head)
Me: M'am everything I mentioned is using Javascript
HR Lady: oh! ok.9 -
My friend (not in CS) said his computer was a bit slow.
I told him I'd fix that for 10, he agreed.
I increased the cursor speed.
He bought it.16 -
*In a team meeting*
Me: *happily jotting down notes in markdown*
Other guy: "Dude what are you doing? Pay attention."
Me: "Umm... I'm taking notes?"
Other guy: "But why does your MS Word have black background?"
Me (a bit lost): "Umm... That's not Word. That's my text editor."
Other guy: "Alright... But how do you convert your notes into Word then?"
Me: "... I don't."
Other guy: *stares at me*
Me: * stare back*
It was a nice conversation.12 -
What are the things in computer science do I need to learn?
So yeah, I'm still in high school and will be entering IT in a few years, but I am willing to learn now. I already have a good grasp of programming and can create good desktop apps and basic web apps, so teaching basic concepts such as variables, loops, functions is done for me.. But what computer science concepts should I learn next?18
