What’s all the argument about a badly trained model? This has nothing to do with consciousness or intent because AIs are not aware, even a toddler knows that. The data the AI model was trained on is obviously bad and needs to be updated.
The annoying aspect is that most times LLMs confidently state shitty information as fact, only to be corrected and then later repeat similar errors. This is because the amount of misinformation an AI might produce on any given topic is relatively proportional to the amount of poor-quality data it was trained on for that topic. So, shitty data equals shitty output. -
@donkulator Really doesn’t make much sense to me. It’s more like having my desktop browser defaulted to downloads folder because it thinks I’m a grandpa and it gives me no option to set to always ask.
There are some client files one would want on a separate directory and not being stored like dump logs. -
@retoor I might be wrong but isn’t it Florida whose minimum legal marriage age is 14

The major reason why most people prefers crypto payment over wired transfer is because 9 out of 10 the transaction is illegal and not necessarily about the ease of payment.

Now imagine:
I’ve been told you are no longer working with us. -
My username is a shortened version of my full name, "Gideon Ogbonnaya." For most people, it is difficult to pronounce, even though the word "Gideon" is short. I often get asked to repeat it. In my early days on the internet, I typically used the username "Giddy99" on most platforms when signing up. I used "Giddy" as my first name and "Naya" as my last name.
The name selection happened naturally as it became the norm during registration, as it was faster to type. Over time, "Giddy99" gradually transitioned into "GiddyNaya," which made more sense and was always available for me to use. -
Click on the laughing emoji that would have been epic 😂

@lotd seems the experience varies from person to person and for me the usecase was worth the hype.
Imagine the need to create a function that extracts youtube video id from a given youtube link regardless of the url format;
In most cases I check online to find existing implementations to reuse or ask chatgpt but while using copilot I could just type the function name like “function extractIdFromYoutubeLink…” and it generates the entire code snippet without leaving the ide. This is just one of the many things it could do and my experience was great overall. -
@novatomic Most companies don’t know what to choose from, so it’s not entirely about budget. For them it’s the end product that matters and one of the questions they do normally ask the most is “How can we convert this our ABC web app into a mobile app?”
Now imagine the response from a team filled with web devs. -
Worked on both RN and Flutter projects on multiple occasions and would pick flutter anytime any day. I believe most mobile app projects are built in React Native due to the availability of resource on expertise at the time.

@jestdotty your assumption is wrong. I have more than 8+ years experience in development in general. Just a new devy in python because a project required it. I used Co-Pilot on there and the assistance was great, the code worked and the project was completed really fast. The output may not be expert level but it was something. That was the whole point of the post.
I have also tried it on Android Studio environment for kotlin which I am more experienced with. Though the support on the ide is limited but the output is great. Not sure what you guys are on about. -
You guys don't sound like you have used it before and I use to sound like that before I tried it. @lotd you mentioned using ChatGPT... Copilot is literally ChatGPT right inside the IDE. You can highlight a code section and start a chat conversation on it. You can also request to fix errors or rewrite and comment the block. It does this automatically, you don;t have to go copy paste code from ChatGPT website.
@vane... the code on the screenshot looks shitty to you because I'm a python beginner and Copilot uses the developers convention to write new blocks of code. It doesn't force it's coding style or convention on the developer. It learns as you code and suggests new blocks so you code faster. As a beginner in python I also learn faster through it's suggestions. You need to give it a try before the critics. -

Prominent figures taking the frontline at Open Ai’s board. What can go wrong

I can keep going on... There is a clear advantage for people residing in developed countries, especially when compared to those in Africa, particularly the underprivileged individuals. Even in Africa, affluence often comes with a range of well-documented constraints.
Hence, it is essential to refrain from making direct comparisons between the individuals you've seen on YouTube and yourself or having unrealistic expectations of them if you do not share the same environment, resources, and support they have. Such comparisons can come across as lacking awareness of the disparities at play. -
Have you heard about the Nigerian teenager who, around 2018, designed a "Gaming robot with emotions"? His work caught the attention of Apple, leading to a collaboration that made him one of the highest-earning robotics engineers. Interestingly, if he had remained in Africa, this story might have had a different, less fortunate outcome. His parents, recognizing his passion for creating DIY robots, sent him to the UK to pursue further studies when he was around 18 years old.

(edit)
DIY typically involves using materials readily available, and many of the videos you've likely come across showcase DIY projects created by individuals in Africa who have limited resources. It's unrealistic to expect them to invest heavily in research or expensive materials when they have various other financial priorities.
For these guys, the primary objective isn't necessarily to construct a functional aircraft but rather to express their creativity using the limited equipment at their disposal. Moreover, it's important to note that many of them may not even speak English. -
@electrineer Sounds like a great idea but the idiots enforces 2fa. I really do not know why they are obsessed with the security thing.

Lol. Two balls on the pitch literally. At least we heading somewhere with these image generators.

*C++ left the chat*

Android Studio was primarily built for Native Android development not for flutter. Familiarize yourself with the use of Vscode + Terminal. Thank me later.

My boss takes a shit on my desk everyday and as I go home I give the cab driver some piece of the shit so when he gets home he can share some of the shit with his wife and kids.
We don’t know the beginning of the shit neither can we tell the end of it. The shit goes round, so just keep passing on the shit until it comes back around. -
When I see some legacy code I go 😭😭😭

@azuredivay that makes sense. I've been assuming it meant the user intends to autocomplete the form on next login when checked.
-
The point is most browser handles that now. The website has zero control if you intend to save your password or not.

VsCode is lightweight compared to Intellij.
More like comparing Photopea with photoshop. Intellij is a complete studio more than just an editor. -
Funny thing is learning Javascript just makes you a native speaker… You still need to learn to speak at least one javascript accent to be relevant.
For me I speak vue and I can only work on frontend. -
