@SweetHuman so it's been a few years, I used to be rookie but I asked my name please be changed. A senior dev found a rant where I was complaining about sexism (and honey there was some real sexist behaviour), and asking for advice on how to best handle it, it turned quite wholesome really. But then I got a final written warning from the company for slander and I had to remove the rant before the end of the day... There was no evidence or ties other than the way I spoke, and my gamer tag on steam was also rookie (yea rookie mistake gaming with colleagues) . But HR dished it out never the less, so I turned ghost. And resigned also, but kept quiet not knowing if the person was still watching. Fun times really. So now you know what happened, doubt it even bugged you as much as it bugged me though. I can be at peace now😋

My 2 cents... This could be more an emotional block, perhaps things don't come as easy to her as to her peers, and that makes her feel mediocre and after failing for a while and having to see others succeed seemingly seamlessly, could be doing some damage to her confidence. I would advise, some reinforcement, and explaining things to her, even if you feel she should already know it. Explain to her how you get to solutions, your tain of thought to a solution, perhaps her approach is off, and she could use a different perspective. It's good for her to see this through, and she shouldn't feel like she cannot do these things, programming and being a good programmer is something that can be learned (unless you are a prodige). Perhaps she just needs someone to pair program with her and emcourage her and explain their thoughts to her, and just give her a confidence boost. Leaving her to code alone might just do more damage, in my limited option and input..

Cause even being told to not use the terminal on source tree (to trigger kdiff merge) is wrong is making me wonder what I'm missing..😐

Senior devs have to deal with a lot of shit, I have seen this, they are almost like the older brother there and they paved the road you're walking on... And more often than not, younger devs chew the stones they placed so carefully... Sure at times they might come across as neurotic and treat you like a dumbarse, but at times we are all dumbarses... Rather focus on communication.. Explain to them your train of thought and why you opted for that solution. They may be dicks but they are reasonable dicks... Be mindful of the seniors.. For they have seen too many winters, my sweet summer child.

My aunts pc, I was about 5 years old or so, couldn't yet read or write properly. My older brother was explaining how to type on it, and create a space using the space bar and to never press the delete button and do not go into the msdos icon 😅. This was around 1995/6. I still recall my mind being blown cause I had always wondered what the significance was of bashing that button so often when people were typing 😋

@ethernetzero I was thinking of pretending I didn't know, hiding the cup for one day. And then the day after that, wait for the cup to be taken.... Then frantically announcing at the office l that whoever took my cup, please come forward. I kept some poison in it the previous day for some pest I have at home, since it's my cup I thought it safe.. unless you neutralized the poison it would have merged with the enamel and mixed with your coffee.... If you don't come forward, I cannot give you the help you need... You might end up having your insides turn into liquid!! And then when the culprit comes forward I will tell them to call their loved ones and get their affairs in order... Let it sink in, and then say, just kidding, but something to think about the next time you touch my stuff... 😋 Might get into trouble though, but it would have been fun for a little while...
