What was happening in IT's head:
-
@Santaclauze more than 1.5 years, while I've been here for 2 months now.
There are a few reasons that makes me think I'm... Disturbing him: I have way more experienced than him in front-end, so I know how to do things. However, I still don't have all their reflexes so I make things my way (which isn't the right way 20~25% of the time). The result is that I go straight to a point without checking him about how he does things so if he happens to check / use my work once I'm done, he'll be totally lost. -
@Jilano because I never think about the fact that I would be using it one last time everytime 😭
-
@Bubbles Do you know the YouTube channel named "lockpicking lawyer"? Dude opens up things in 2mn tops, really impressive, he made me buy lots of transparent locks 😂
-
@zotigapo ... Of course. It takes data, but this VPN isn't the best because it's developed in Canada. They have a law that will force the VPN to reveal any user's activity if that user did something illegal.
(And i don't remember reasi the anything about logs from them) -
@zotigapo what is "it" you're talking about?
-
@CoffeeMakesCode both. Plus the firewall the company I work in uses for absolutely every-fucking-thing which makes everything even harder than it's already is. 2 more weeks to go before I GTFO, can't wait
-
@C0D4 Using GitlabCI and its registry 😎
@alexbrooklyn ^ answer just here, but yes, exactly! The point is just to push some code and see the server getting updated without doing anything from my side 😊😊 -
@Fast-Nop he doesn't have a choice, sadly. The big fat company we're in "knows it better" (awarded joke of the century), so every server or computer we have is locked under at lease one firewall (most of the servers are hidden between 2 of them. Also, our package repository is handled by them, and a team is dedicated on what should be here or not.
Plus, he was told that some other dudes manage to make the Docker image run without trouble, so it's "doable", and we didn't worry too much at the time. Well I wish I could meet them now. -
@ScriptCoded The man that replied to me ran out of ideas and suggested that I'd try again when people come back from vacation (this is a period of the year where everybody takes 1 to 2 weeks of vacation so it's half staffed). I still have no idea what I'll do tomorrow...
-
@river226 yeah I thought about that, the problem is my company is everything except open source, because it's France's main internet provider 😩
Everything is overly fucking complicated because of layers of security, so I'm not able to come and say "yo, i made this, let's use it".
But the job is really cool anyway -
@CoffeeNcode sounds cool 😮 And I already made a portfolio (based on VueJS 😍)
But I think I should something with NativeScript, sounds fun -
@Omnisus +1, I've heard of people getting banned from Pokemon Go for using an app that changes your location, I don't know how it's called but it exists
-
@Jilano Ah yeah I remember him talking about Gitea now, I bet it's the one then :')
-
@Haxk20 last time I checked on her username, her profile was gone 😭
-
@linuxxx So you're using Gogs ? Or maybe a self hosted version of Gitlab? Or maybe something else? 😮
-
@linuxxx nice 👌
I'm currently importing all my GitHub projects into Gitlab 😅 -
Time for a pull request 😁
-
@Drillan767 my bad, just saw @filthyranter's answer, I'm going to start from there 😁
-
No thought yet but huge noob question: how / where do you learn it? I haven't been able to find a tutorial as good as one I could find on about any other (mainstream) language
-
@karasube well tbh the fear of never being able to exit vi (without :!q), and the fact that you have to do <esc> + :wq, sounds complex to a lot of people
In another hand, you can directly edit your file on nano, and just <ctrl> + X then Y to save a file 😅 -
@metamourge not when building Docker images, you have to install an editor yourself (and I install nano 100% of the time)
-
@linuxxx Here in France the default search engine set with Brave is Qwant (that's why I'm surprise they suggest you google ._.) Really powerful but has also a lot of flaws (still, it was created only a few years ago so it's still work in progress)
But I've hardly heard of searx, I'm gonna dig around, I have been disappointed a lot by duckduckgo, forced to use google's researches to find something that seemed obvious at first! -
How come you don't have Qwant installed with Brave? No wonder why you sound scared! Just set Qwant (and not that useless ddg thingy), and you're good to go, I promise!
I used it for 3 or 4 months, now, can't go back to google chrome without having the feeling to walk on used serynges -
@Kimmax Can confirm that there's an -s. Can fucking figure out how to remove it 😭
-
@Kimmax I'm starting to believe my ansible install is fucked up, I have no problem running my commands via ansible, but if I use ansible-playbook, it WILL try to use sudo -_-
-
@Kimmax I actually found some sneaky sudos when trying with "-vvv"
How do I get rid of them? -
@ohemelaar I told you, I'm fucking stupid.
-
@une-poule Yeah no 😂 But I heard I'll get a phone just for the work... Which is nice. I guess?
-
@Yamakuzure Sadly. FFS.
