@TheDevil I don't know a tool to auto create this kind of animation just by using one image. I created each frame (image) manually with an image processing program and built the gif with the Microsoft Gif Animator.
If you want to create animated gifs with self made images the website gifmaker.me is helpful.
Gimp can auto create some animations as far as I know.

I wonder how the copyright of reposted content is handled here, especially for images.
Many ranters post pics that they copied from somewhere else.
If copyrighted commercial images are posted dfox and trogus can get some trouble.

@billgates Right now I would give that up only if money wouldnt be enough for basic needs. But I worked for many years already and got enough money for retirement. I think your situation is quite different.

@billgates I always worked from home and made enough money. So an office somewhere else is no alternative for me. But thats my point if view.

Moving to the office not only costs time, it also costs money.
And if you make 30k more you have to pay more taxes.
So maybe the difference is not such big.

Sorting depends on more factors than just the upvotes. I think the amount of comments and their ratings also count.

When using the webapp I can downvote a rant, but I cannot choose between downvote options (repost, offend, not for me...). How is such a downvote registered?

@schlomm Found an episode with that software: "Bienzle und der Mann im Dunkeln" from the year 2000 at minute 51. At that time usually 7M people watched that series.
The episode I remember was another one, also with detective Bienzle.

@schlomm I cant remember which one it exactly was, because its so long ago. It was in the late 90th and I think it was made in Stuttgart. Their police (LKA) used that software.

@g-m-f That was back in the 90th. It was a image database for MS-DOS. Some police departments used it to identify criminals. It was shown during the movie when a witness had to identify a murder.

@KartikShetty Its called "Tatort". Its a german crime movie series (90 minutes) running sunday evenings at prime time.
