My first "program". It's nice to see progress, but good God was that an awful program.

I have a few old laptops laying around. I was thinking to repurpose them for novel, and/or 'smart', projects. Any ideas or tips?

Since learning how to program, I have started to see the world in a different way. The algorithmic and Mathematical way of approaching computing problems I have adapted to approach all of my problems. Everything is just a problem that can be solved by taking a logical approach!

My first day of my internship. I was confident in my abilities to develop, but wow. I was totally put in place after the first day. I realized that I didn't know as much as I thought. Almost wanted to change career paths. I'm thankful for that day because it really made me push on and become a better person and programmer!

Disclaimer: this rant has nothing to do with programming, but I'm a dev and need to rant. My 11 year old sister joined the illuminati. Yeah you heard that right. Let's start.

I wake up to 8 missed calls from my mom. I call her back and she asks how to reset a Gmail password, I tell her and nonchalantly joke about her being forgetful. She then says "it's because your sister joined the illuminati". I take a step back. Did I hear that right?!

Much to my surprise, I did. Turns out some girl at her school said that a demon named Penny would visit her while she slept and kill her, unless my sister joined the illuminati. I thought the whole point of that group is to be secretive, but whatever. Props to my sister for finding the website and figuring out how to sign up, although it's not that hard.

My sister is so scared now that she has to meet up with a priest every week to protect her from demons. My mom is meeting with school administration to find out what to do about these threats, and also to find out how the illuminati got involved. You can't make this stuff up. I'm now tasked with getting back into her Gmail, iPad, and Google hangouts account to retrieve the messages she has been receiving from her bully. Immediately after the phone call, I walked into the elevator on my floor and someone had taped up the illuminati sign. What an interesting day I've had.

The main reason I want to be an app developer is so that I can enable dark themes by default. That way people can see for themselves and the dark side can take over!

I think it would be interesting to turn a experience into a haiku. Like take a memorable experience, good or bad, funny or serious, and turn it into a Haiku.

How common is it to use 3rd party libraries? I feel like I might be too reliant on them. What's a good balance of using them to expedite certain aspects of coding, and relying on them?

I just had a dream about how to squash a bug I was encountering in my app. I immediately woke up, fixed the bug, and cleaned up my code. I thought this only happened in movies.

I often stop and think that my entire professional life with (hopefully) revolve around turning 0s into 1s, or 1s into 0s.

Going to the job fair as a junior and seeing the requirements makes me want to quit. How am I supposed to to get enough experience as a student?! Time to get back to my personal projects!

Now that you can make native apps in javascript for all platforms, is there any use for learning native development? Why not just learn a flavor of javascript and launch on all platforms?

I feel so overwhelmed. I feel like I'm never going to actually learn everything about programming. I feel like I'm just going to learn some new API every time I want to do some thing. I feel like I'll lose the ability to do basic programming. I feel like I need a cup of coffee.
