I have been working in IT for a while. I remember 15 years ago having a woman as a developer was always a curiosity. Nowadays, we have so many in our company I lost count. As it became less of a curiosity nobody really cares any more. Not so many different standards either.
I guess they want to be more welcoming with those different categories, but we are already nearing a time when it is not just sort-of-offensive but it is actually offensive to hold women to different standard. -
@vintprox I also wonder that sometimes when I notice 30 minutes has passed and the npm downloads are still running on screen.
-
@vintprox free space is gone because of dependencies installed. I am sorry for this obscure joke. 🤣

@Navigatr some pages literally load the GPDR stuff instead of any content. So there is no way of going past that.
Additionally every page is different. It's easy to target one specific page, but if you are just randomly browsing the web, instead of the content you are always first faced with those GPDR things instead. -
@halfflat hey, looks beautiful. I don't get exactly what is the math behind it, but seems to work perfect and code looks fairly decent as well. Good job. :D
-
@halfflat beautiful. Can you now port it to JS. :D
-
I didn't mean stupid as someone doing it is stupid, but stupid like naive from pages perspective.
I mean, you know those sites where you make window slightly smaller to fit several windows on the screen, and the page drops half of the elements and displays touch controls instead.
I am still on my laptop, I just wanted to put two windows on the same screen. I didn't magically gain touch screen because I made window smaller.
Lot of web pages end up sniffing the user agent header to detect which interactive elements to display. -
Hard to say. But there are some decisions you have to make based on the screen size and aspect ratio and others based on interaction methods, whether it is touch only, hybrid touch & mouse or mouse only.
-
Sorry, but I have always thought it's stupid to identify devices based on their screen size. It's one thing, but other is how you interact with the device. Whether it is touch device or has mouse pointer for example.

@ineptCoder Not sure why you needed the rest and extra numbers, it's just: [a, b] = [b, a]
For all those 30 000 000 times you have needed to swap variables in JS -
@c3ypt1c here is a video of the evil terrorists testing the device: https://youtube.com/watch/...
-
@c3ypt1c no, it's definitely F. That's the joke
-
If you look closely you will realize, it's not a nuke. It is an F bomb.
-
@Phlisg it's a news headline. Titles are written with capital letters in english for some reason. There is a whole science behind it: http://grammar.yourdictionary.com/c...
-
@-ANGRY-CLIENT- you sure are one angry client.
-
So nobody managed to solve it. So yeah, it's just a character substitution cypher with reduced alphabet. Just 13 letters, and a space, making it possible to encode two characters in one byte.
Hardest part of the puzzle is figuring out what the puzzle is not. There are several false clues in there, including the length, hex alphabet and reduced alphabet. -
@htlr like Albert Einstein said: If cluttered laptop cover is a sign of cluttered mind, what is empty laptop cover sign of? :P
-
@hashedram but's it's distribution is much greater and it has done much more damage than your viruses.
-
Yeah, not Great Gatsby, that one already has E in the title.
Now when I checked it, it's called Gadsby:

I like listening to drone music. Basically it's just like one chord playing for an hour. Sounds like the synth player fell asleep on their keyboard. But, boy does it help to focus. o_O

x = 1 << 5 | 1 << 4 | 1 << 1

@RegexFun I agree. They are fun, but the ones written by regex pros are specially fear inducing. I have seen 20 line regexes which summon Satan and burn churches. Have to be careful with those.
-
@AleCx04 yeah, I have noticed that too. If you are calm in panic situation people think you don't care. But in reality, staying calm in panic situation is the best thing you can do: If production servers are down and you are losing money, you need to find the reason and fix it, running around, screaming and crying and snapping at people does not help to get the servers back online.
-
@ILMostro what's a "TV"? You mean the archaic form of non-interactive computer our grandparents used to have for their cat to rest on?
-
I used to have a bicycle rear view mirror on my screen, very useful.
-
Shitty joke. Specially considering assembly is one of the easiest languages in the world if you just bother to learn it.
-
After several hours of fixing the wireless printer you concluded: It was definitely not wireless, and probably even not a printer.
-
Your requirements are about as unreasonable as to ask John from accounting to wear pants to the office.
-
Best advice ever: pretend you are sleeping, eventually you fool even yourself into sleep.
