Bangalore. Right now in Koramangala
-
An absolutely great bunch of talented people. No sarcasm intended.
-
@C0D4 it mostly reads purchase info from emails. Only purchases whose receipts I have received in my inbox are listed on that page

This is what I've observed in India. You need a Bachelor's degree to be taken seriously. Getting an interview itself will be quite hard without one. Especially at an entry level.
The scene can be a bit different at startups though. You can get interviews based on your skill level. And your skills have to very impressive to convince the guy to take a chance with you.
I personally know someone who dropped out of college but is really skilled and has proved his talent over time. As a result, he has gotten a chance to work with some good companies. But even he would tell you that it was quite hard getting there without a degree. -
I once put on my headphones and forgot to plug it into my phone. I was engrossed in playing a game(whose music/sound is disabled) and completed a 1 hour journey without realising.

So someone was matching donations 2-to-1 for archive.org
Perfect time to donate.
PS: I'm not donating much. Just $5 per project. But gotta start somewhere -
Thanks for the suggestions guys. I'll be a Decent supporter next month onwards. archive.org and FreeBSD are next on the list
-
Good job. I'll give it a try when I back at work
-
@Haxk20 my account is just idle. So if you wanna publish a free app, I could help.
-
@Krokoklemme same
-
PRs on your repo for hacktoberfest? Hmmm...
-
Congratulations :)
-
Congratulations :) and all the best
-
@Stocken kotlin ftw 😎
-
@SukMikeHok not necessarily. I personally tried understanding architectures by reading blogs and going through code posted on /r/androiddev and reading the comments explaining how things can be done better
-
@SukMikeHok You should be able to make decent apps and know what you are doing.
-
@ganjaman LOL
-
@neriald well she mentioned her rant during one of our recent chats
-
@ceee I'm sure there are many more

@jonii unfortunately they don't do things that way. You only get to do stuff very specific to your role. So even if you can do something, it will go to the other team.
-
@filthyranter and what exactly do you plan on doing for 9 hours a day 5 days a week ?
-
@zemaits right now Linux Mint xfce.
-
@kowkow that's true. But it runs well on my laptop with 8GB too. The recent updates to AS have done good work on optimization.
But I do know the pain. I used to run it on 3GB ram for over a year.
