I completely ageee with you @TurtleTheDev, I've been working on a couple React Native projects and it's absolutely hell to bring everything up to date because just so many packages haven't been updated in forever. It likely would have been easier I'd we'd been on top of it all the time instead of once every 2 years.
-
@Xoka It's this banking website in Ethiopia...
Edit: enatbanksc.com fyi -
I literally only got Windows 11 because I cared so little about my gaming rig. I couldn't bear to use it as my daily driver. And for someone who only gets to interact with it sometimes, it's nice!
-
@netikras wow I've a linksys router that's crapping out on me right now! It goes like 5 mins of normal function and then completely dies on me and I get patches of complete packet loss every 10 seconds. Glad you got something better :D
-
@Xoka I recently ran into the same thing. Except instead of disabling input, they change the password's value to some random text as soon as the text field loses focus. Super annoying
-
@Floydimus you're totally right! It's like they WANT you to use an insecure password.
-
@tosensei true :D but hey at least I got on that train now
-
@useVim I did :D
-
@JS96 thanks for the knowledge on the chip. I've also had lots of trouble with Google branded phones and battery. My Nexus 6P was absolutely abysmal at battery usage and the nexus 5x before that. It's my current 4a that's actually given me a day+ of battery. Completely different (and great) experience for me.
-
@Alice why would you do this???
-
@swagnette @nibor Thanks a lot for the direction! I just checked it out and yeah it's awesome! I really feel like I've been under a rock for not knowing about this before...
-
@nibor, @swagnette, thanks for the reference! I'll definitely check it out
-
I'm sorry to hear that... I've definitely been worried about having a first gen chip on my phone. I'd assumed it would cause some issues. I plan on keeping my 4a 5G for a couple more years (at least until it stops getting updates) as I'm pretty pleased with how it performs.

My favorite thing to do with websites like these is clear all cookies and other session data saved by it. (assuming it's one of those freemium, "you can look at 3 articles" thing)
-
@annapurna I think I understand what you mean... I'll work on breaking them down from general tasks (idk why but I just keep most of my tasks in idea form and execute the steps all in one go) into smaller steps
-
Looking at code I wrote a few months ago makes me want to refactor the whole thing.... I have ended up with like 5 different implementations of the same project
-
I've had that happen so many times! I feel your pain buddy
-
@magicMirror now this is a great idea right here. Dunno why I never thought of this
-
@heyheni I can't even deal sometimes
-
@Huuugo I used to check my RAM consumption quite a bit before I got into developing applications. But maybe that's just me
-
@RazorSh4rk Had me worried there😂
-
@RazorSh4rk How do you manage?
-
@Kushtrim really? I had actually kind of enjoyed the change. It's odd I feel like the only one that likes that.
-
This made my whole week
-
I don't really bother to learn math and things like that cause I have a serious lack of motivation. But it's really cool you can do that. @TimoHo
-
@TimoHo I had started a tech club at my school and was honestly surprised when they couldn't understand the syntax after 2 months of teaching them
-
@-eth I was thinking conditional. So sorry😅
