I just realised that it's faster for me to create a CV in HTML then in Word

Continuation of my post about my classmate who wanted to look "hacker" by dual booting his debian with windows but ended up partitioning his entired hard drive.

He got debian to work, he opened a terminal and asked me what should he type to get all the "Hacker Tools" *cinges into orbit*

Client emailed that a few sites weren't working. I always, always look at the links but that's slowly eradicating because it becomes an automated thing.

Awesome teacher number two: another Linux teacher!

Didn't have many classes from him but damn he could interact with the students!

He was very open (it just autocorrected that to porn O.o) minded, very passionate about Linux and new shitloads about security. You'd expect him to be like 50 as for his knowledge amounts but he was around 27 I think.

He could go into discussions with students on the windows vs Linux subject, made it look like they were winning and then completely burn them in just a few sentences.

I think he liked me a lot because we would talk all kinds of Linux stuff.

He'd also help people with windows sometimes but windows servers where a very fucking no-go for him.

Man, I miss that guy 😞

Friend: HTML?
Me: No that's not a programming language

Being one of the top devs (and a good student admired by most lecturers) at college, my most humbling experience was when I joined my first job. I thought I knew SQL, I thought I knew C#. I realized in the first week, the thing I didn't know was "I don't know jack".
Thanks to a couple of great mentors (it took a few of them to bring me up to speed :P), I learned that the more I learn something, the more I will realize how much more there is to learn. I used tools to create storyboard animations in WPF, and my mentor would write it all in XAML! I'd write messy SQL and the other mentor just reduces it to a couple of elegant lines. They were like tech gods to my college self, all while being humble and friendly.
They also imbibed in me a sense of responsibility to carry on the culture of mentoring my juniors, which taught me much more than just the technical side of our profession.

Finally beat the 20++ limit! 😃

I developed an app for a voluntary radio station that is being operated in my school... for both Android and iOS and without charging them a dime.
About a third of the people in school downloaded it - 600 people.
Haven't received any credit, but I gained some experience.

After a years of struggle with the administration office I managed to create a coding club in my school! Things are finally changing

Biggest hurdle for me is living with Delayed Sleep Phase Disorder. A neurological disease which affects the way my body makes melatoline. Basicly I have a set wake/sleep pattern which is extremely hard to deviate from. My sleeptime is 7am and wake up time 4pm.

I worked for 8 years forcing myself to be at the office at 9am because thats the social norm. Got 2 burnouts due to being sleepdeprived, various other issues and whatnot.

Finally discovered whats wrong with my body 3 years ago and found a awesome job at a company where I develop very complex systems which communicate with various stock exchanges.

Best part is that I work on my own and have the deal that I work about 3 to 5 hours a day on site. Then I go home have dinner, do some netflix and chill with the misses and after that I have the whole night just for me. When the world is asleep I am writing code, developing a complex system with NOBODY around me who can annoy me!

For me, this is the biggest hurdle I've overcome.

I discussed this whole feminism trend with many of the women colleagues, but not one of them could mention a case where they were distinguished by their gender. Ever.
