@asgs goes to the highest bidder.
-
@Chubak it's exciting and horrifically easy to screw up. Lots of benchmark testing is needed.
-
@xaero that or some serialized DTO. What sounds like what happened in OP's post is that they rolled their own XML deserializer and fucked it up somehow.

All tools are shit and too hard to use!
Until I learn to use them.
Then all other tools are shit! -
This happens at every level in IT; at every company. You cannot avoid it, but you don't have to embrace it. Kindly kick that ticket to the appropriate team and wash your hands of it.
Whomever is delegating those tickets though, you need to go after that person. -
"IDE? No, we use Notepad"
"No, not Notepad++. The one that comes with Windows" -
Here's a simple challenge:
Use Linux on one, Windows IoT core on the other and make them both communicate. Any protocol and networking or non-networking method is acceptable.
Use one of your favorite languages on one and some other languages you are interested in on the other. -
@Root is your boss the owner? Otherwise, go above his head.
As far as him yelling at you? Put him in his place. Talk firmly but politely not to ever talk to you again like that. -
@Codex404 same here most of the stuff I do as well is more back end focused too. I only do front end stuff when I have to. I enjoy doing it for the most part it's just that I know there are much better UI/UX people who are focused on that.
-
@GieltjE oh shit, I thought the fan was to cool you of by 20°C!
-
@Codex404 I feel this way about CSS. I mean I can write it and have it do things for me, but other than that I have absolutely no idea what it means. And I've been doing this professionally for a bit now too...

@hubiruchi "Moving hater" here. God damnit I hate moving furniture.
And god forbid you have a truck! Then all of your stupid acquaintances will come out of the woodworks needing help to move shit! An entire afternoon gone! "Oh you got pizza from the worst cheapest pizza place in town? Oh thank you so much!"
/rant -
@hubiruchi Trash haters incomming in 3... 2...
-
@linuxxx I agree with @RantSomeWhere, it's a good start of something that could be great
-
@d4ng3r0u5 no one loves you like you! It's like they always say, sex IS better when you do it yourself
-

Look everyone! It's a front end developer complaining about something they can test against and resolve.
-
@seraphimsystems I know that Randall Munroe probably intended for that to be a joke, but there's Truth in that comic strip.
-
@Rabbyte it's terminal. We'll have to put it to death.

Dear Junior Programmers reading this post;
OP is semi full of shit. Independent learning is very important, yes. But I learned a fuck-ton from my University about software development.
What you should also focus on is how to bridge the gap between business requirements and software, that will be your hardest challenge. -
Man, I'm not gonna profess to be a love guru or anything, but sometimes you gotta wear your emotions on your sleeve and just be honest with your feelings. Worst case scenario is you get rejected and move on. Best case you end up working with someone you love. Pros outweigh the cons here. Ask her out to dinner!
-
@teganburns paycheck of course. Then I'll be applying for greener grass
-
PO? Parole officer?
-
@Sawn light theme master race

Most likely a cause of a requirement change or poorly defined requirement.
-
@D3add3d would it be possible to set QoS and set your devices as highest priority?
-
dd-wrt is awesome. I flashed a router once so I could use it as an extender. I was blown away by how much more functionality it added to the $20 router.
-
Haha, that's like the equivalent of not plugging in to the electrical outlet and wondering why it won't power on.

Until you have to work on one of their old projects, then you get to return the favor.
