Seriously though, it sucks if it happened to you. But hey, at least now you know this first-hand - you don't need to write perfect code if you need a product out ASAP, you have to MVP and then make it better as needed.
-
Two steps #4... THIS ALGORITHM IS INVALID
-
I keep writing the same thing in every "+100 tabs" thread, lol 😶
You should take a look at tree-style tabs 😄 -
Dude, for the sake of god, why do we still have horizontal tabs in all browsers when vertical tree-like tabs are so much superior? Those would make handling such amount waay easier. It sucks that they are properly available only on one browser, as a third-party addon.
-
Sooo... OSception?
-
@A-0-C playing competetive games (overwatch in my case) really does makes you sweat a lot sometimes lol, but I guess motion games could fit into that too
-
Well that didn't last for long... rip magic number 😐
-
@g-m-f thanks 😗
-
@No-one pls don't ++, i didn't meant you (and don't -- either)
-
@A-0-C not too old, maybe it's just that my search techniques sucked back then lol, like 7-8 years ago
-
What kind of .NET things do you do? I've been using .NET Core on Linux with pleasure (unless you need third-party libs), and if you miss VS Jetbrain's Rider seems like a nice alternative (haven't tried yet though). I hate having to dual-boot Windows just for games and a few apps 😫
-
I remember the times when doing that was kinda common 😨
-
JavaScript is my most common bug when writing JavaScript code
-
Replace all the c's in his repo with cyrillic с's or something similar. Watch him scratch his head about "class is not defined". Repeat a few times with different characters.
-
@nicholai I haven't really been using Atom (it was nearly unusably slow on my potato laptop when I tried it out a few years ago), but judging purely by names of those plugins VSCode has most of them out of the box. That's why I liked it - it's much better by default than, say, Sublime, you don't have to keep tinkering with it for literally years to make it work for you. Plugins are much easier to install and manage too.

@jmclemo6 in school? Wow, that's nice 😉
Assembly is very very good for making you think in pure, step-by-step, algorithms, so teaching it in school is probably a smart idea. It may not particularly be useful today, but hell does it boosts your brains lol -
I got the opportunity to make the 256th ++. AM I BLESSED NOW? 😨
-
Learn one, learn two, learn three and then it will be just the difference in syntax and specifics. It's much easier if you know the general concepts.
And yeah, get used to it. Learning is basically half of a dev's life. -
@Ashkin i will <3
-
@thejohnhoffer add he redirects it to his personal website. So sneaky.
-
@klukas yeah, I've barely been through any interviewing processes, but I'd say that personality and ability to learn is way over anything else. I mean, unless you want to have slaves instead of good workers, or just don't have time to teach people for your domain.
-
@Jumpshot44 I do have a personal website with a blog, but it has like 5 visitors/week. I could publish it on some open blogging platforms, only to see it drown immediately among more popular people 😫
I guess I'll work on it some more and then try again. -
Resell it to some scammers or be a nice guy and hang it to SO so no one scams them?
I'm buying snackoverflow.com next. -
@No-one but what if I'm a programmer && a (failed) pro-grammer?
-
Not only India, Russia is the same.
And well, at least you learned your lesson 😉 -
Yep. Not only resumes, in fact, but every time you're getting evaluated and don't get feedback on how to get better. Happens all the time. Even if you put your whole soul into making something, and then just get an automated message saying "nope, we don't even care enough to explain what you did wrong".
-
@Jackowski oh wow, just noticed, I have no idea how that happened lol
-
@sylflo I totally know what you mean dude, I feel you 😖
-
@sylflo should I envy you? :P
