Ganofins7941y@Nanos there is nothing realistic as of now. There are only two people in the company but the good thing is that both of them are senior people having over 10 years of experience.
Yes they are offering shares but that will be confirmed after setting this SAAS code on a server and making it run within a few days. Then only they will offer a full-time role
Not sure if they will make money or not through this product. -
Ganofins7941y@Nanos I wonder that's how the SAAS products are built. Just taking the code from an open source project and making some tweaks in it and then just launch your own company??

Ganofins7941y@retoor I am not underestimating it. I just want to make sure that I am joining the right company
I just don't want to regret anything afterwards -
Ganofins7941y@Nanos understand. Thanks for the advice. I just sent him my timeline and now waiting for his response

If they are paying you in company stock and this is their pitch run. Don't look back. If you need resume exp then do it maybe and then run but don't stick around. But you're honestly better off making something presentable on github.
The value added to using open source and tweaking a few things is almost nothing. So the company is worth almost nothing. The vast majority of startups that pay people in stock fail and you get nothing. Just don't do it.
If they want to pay you money that is fair for your work to make a worthless company and you need the job tho go for it. -
Ganofins7941y@jestdotty this will be just contract based work. Similarly to this there will be a couple more contract based works.
Then they will see if they have the vacancy and then they will think about onboarding me as a full-time developer
They said they will offer me equity after joining full-time only, didn't tell me about the CTC yet

Hey,
So, a startup wants me to join them, it is a product based company. They want me to setup their SAAS product on the server which is purely built using open-source software with some pretty small tweaks in the code
They need it done in a few days
I just wonder that's how a big product based company is built
Please help me in making the decision, I am really so confused
Thanks
