Bruno ist getting better, but still not on the level Postman and Insomnia are, if only those two didn‘t lock your data behind a forced account.

Also switched to Bruno. So far it covers the basics. Definitely not as mature as Postman or Insomnia yet but it is picking up some good momentum.

@bhouston @possum Bruno looks neat. Next time I'm doing lots of web API work I might pick it up.

    Bahahaha
    Couldn’t agree more!

@possum with Insomnia you can save your collections and whatnot as a git repository, but it's kinda janky to use

I never felt the need to use anything beyond curl. Typing out is easier or maintaining a list of URIs has been sufficient

they said you could continue to use scratch pad.

It doesn't have UI to change environments FFS

    Essentially pointless now

@asgs Things like postman helps me avoid typing the same url all the time. And I can re-use mostly the same call with only updated param.

Isn't it a lot to type out with curl all the time.

@iceb the URLs don't change often and even if they do it is just a portion of it as we switch between dev, qe, perf, and prod environments

And no, accessing history with arrows and updating headers/parameters isn't a lot to me

The only time when it becomes cumbersome to me is when you have to try out a lot of different payloads (PUTs/POSTs) but that's when a shell script helps

@nururururu Yeah, _after_ you logged in. I had it running for 3 years, then came version 8 and all my projects were locked behind an account they wanted me to register. The thread on Github was wild that night.

Oh no. They want money for the services they offer so they force you to register an account.

(Cannot resist to drop that bomb shell. Feeling kinda sad for the Bruno dev because most probably they will get a lot of feature requests or circle jerk mails like "why not working" without zero support or money offered)

I just use thunderclient. I only need the basics

We have some collections shared in a Postman Team. I saw the pricing. It is SO expensive! And it's a per-seat subscription! Wildly overpriced for what it offers.

So i did it. I made an account.

Even then it suuucks. No search in my history unless i got it loaded through the infinite scrolling
