Unpopular opinion:

- It's not a guarantee that someone who gets into tech because he/she likes gaming will be a good dev

- It's not a guarantee that someone who gets into tech because he/she likes money will be a bad dev.

What one likes has no influence on skill or talent. It can be a motivator though. So someone who is passionate about tech is likely going to learn more about it.
If someone is very passionate about gaming or money that might undermine motives to dev good.
