I don't seem to understand why so many developers nowadays are focused on learning newer frameworks rather than focusing on best practices and learning how to code better.

"Hey I learnt React today, we should totally switch to it because it's so amazing"

> mfw the same guy doesn't even know how to follow coding styles, write good code that scales or document his code.

I think some people need to take a step back and focus on the more vital tasks of writing good code to begin with rather than getting so excited about every new thing that surfaces. It's annoying as fuck to deal with some of these people who you have to work alongside and be able to read their loopy shit code and all they are doing in their time is refreshing hackernews.

Jobs, Coz recruiters get a hard on when they see new tech in resume. Like I know people trying to learn angular Js without knowing javascript

I think some devs have ADHD and can't focus for long.

Think they're fucking rockstar's cis they "know" all these new frameworks

I'll just dump this shit here, 'aight?

JavaEE, EJB (backing beans), JBoss Deployment, Java 6...

There is a reason why PayPal moved a shitton of their stuff to Node

Because Java is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO FUCKING SLOOOOOW

    Sincerely, an annoyed JavaEE Developer

    Totally agree.
Take one lang understand the concept of programming in corp env.
    Learn to scale.
Lear to architecture a solution without painting youraelf into a corner.
Once that is done learning a new framework is rince and repeat.

@thevariableman that's really stupid. Getting hired is one thing, staying hired is another. Maybe recruiters get a hard on for that shit but you should respect yourself and learn things properly than trying to learn keywords in different frameworks that you have no idea base functionality about.

@px06 tell that to a guy who spent years perfecting his skill in COBOL. but unfortunately that's the way the world spins dude... Reality is stupid and we are a part of it

@thevariableman I guess but even COBOL is actively used to this date and developed and supported so I mean he's not losing out on much.
