theNox94777yI change my phone only when it breaks and I had two smartphones before this one, each of them lasted about 2 to 3 years, but those were pretty bad phones so maybe my current one will last longer hopefully

Pretty much when it won't work anymore and it's cheaper to change than repair it. My Xperia is from 2012, it does everything I need it to do, rather spend the money on something else. A phone is a tool these days, like a car or a hammer, not a status/fashion statement.

What do you think is the average life of a smartphone?
I think it's about 3 years.
