@QueenMorgana you can never have too much RAM, as far as I am concerned. β€οΈβ€οΈ

. . . Not to be that guy. But it looks like one of the old HPs. Just not as thick.
-

@QueenMorgana I have a new hp, pretty good but not as good as this one, and I was pissed about it too.
-

Android Studio: Cool 32GB RAM, this is going to be fun!
Chrome: Time to test those RAMs

 Enjoy your new laptop ^_^

@QueenMorgana I basically don't use mine. I have a dock with a dual monitor thing. Eventually it will become my multimedia computer. I figure that will be after we get married, I win the lottery, and I become president
-

@QueenMorgana maybe if one of those happened. Though if I really wanted it to happen I would buy a lotto ticket.

simo002m5818yWell it's nice that you have so much storage, but as for the OS, or maybe just in general, I would probably have went with an SSD, I didn't think it was soooo fast until I tried it. simo002m5818yWell it's nice that you have so much storage, but as for the OS, or maybe just in general, I would probably have went with an SSD, I didn't think it was soooo fast until I tried it.

Wandi928y@rantOverflow or budget wise. But if he had more budget to invest at CPU. Then go for intel. Or else amd, I'm on considering about using Ryzen 5 1500x to my pc right now. @ParkCity someone who uses virtual machines :). I wish I had more than 16 gigs so I can allocate more to the docker vm (because I'm on windows)

I’ve gone through the “Can I move over to another machine?” exercise every year since I’ve started using Apple machines ( buying them second hand though ) and the answer is always no π€£

mrblarg868yOk you've got VMs on it, I will stay the rant about there being such a thing as too much ram. mrblarg868yOk you've got VMs on it, I will stay the rant about there being such a thing as too much ram.

@irene yes but it's still cheaper than a MacBook with less than half the specs. This machine will last me for years.
-

@QueenMorgana seriously, I would expect every developer laptop to have 32GB today. I'm actually looking towards 64GB, but I guess I'm spoiled like that.

Shodan4918yMy usual comment when I see beastly big laptops in the "desktop replacement" class is along the lines of "doesn't seem like you're going to move that very often, a desktop computer would be better bang for your buck", but I keep forgetting that 15-inchers - the limit of portability to me - can carry this kind of hardware nowadays... @rantOverflow docker for windows is based on a hyper-v vm with Linux on it. Here's an example. And what's wrong with running on laptops lol? I've only worked with laptops for the past years.

				Aaand Windows.

 Behold, Windows updates are coming.

They'll be here soon, right when you're in the middle of something important. And there's nothing you could do about it.

@SmoothHacker longest I've had it unplugged so far is 3 hours and the battery was down to about 38%.
