The only thing that sometimes bothers me about having IT knowledge (specially now that I'm officially an IT Engineer graduate) is that I still have friends that can't do simple things that they asked me when I was at highschool.

"My computer is not working", " I can't install this game", "My computer doesn't start".

Since I'm okay with helping others, I always try to help. The thing is that everytime I help is always something I google at the moment. And most of times is simple problems that don't even need to be googled

I do not try to help everyone anymore. Most of these so called 'friends' just contact me when they want me to fix their computer. And they often don't even appreciate the effort and time I put in. Sorry, but I don't like to be exploited.

@LMestre14 If you see that helping others takes up more time than you bargained for, ask them monetary compensation for your services. They'll disappear in no time.
Or refuse politely with an excuse.

That's for those who take your skills for granted and don't bother "getting their hands a bit dirty".
