Congrats! Remember always backup your database when playing on production server. It's no use advising that don't play on production server when we all know you will.

@error503 Thanks, I was just making fun of the title they gave me on paper; too vague. I have many years in the field.

At a previous job, I was the Domain/Sysadmin. I was responsible for everything: the windows domain, both DCs, the physical network (plus recabling -- the MDF was a *disaster*), the printers, the servers, all backups, all migrations, all the workstations/lappys in the building, antivirus, updates, security policies, etc.

    My official title? "IT Assistant".
and my pay matched my title. -_-

Congrats on your job and good luck

My contract says front end developer (first draft said fronD end developer). 90% of my time is spend on backend. Whatever. I enjoy myself here.

At yahoo, all the engineers were "technical Yahoo!'s". So after 5 years there, I was a Senior Technical Yahoo!

Try explaining that leveling when you moved to a different company.... 😳

@theScientist Web Developer, Application Developer, Web Application Developer, etc.

There are many types of developers, including "real estate developer".

It's a global company, the title should be specific.
