If it makes you feel better, I moved to Switzerland about a year ago only knowing English. As of right now, my German is atrocious and my French is nonexistent but I've been surviving pretty well despite working with French people :) English is extremely common in technology so you're direct coworkers should understand English. That's not to say you shouldn't try to learn the language! Good luck!!!

Collie3997yI moved to Germany from Ireland with a very basic level of German. I spent months freelancing while learning the language. As long as you have English and try to improve speaking the native language, you'll do fine.

I moved from Mexico to Sweden 2.5 years ago, it wasn't easy but it's all good now. I am able to speak Swedish, I am getting more used to the country and i am very satisfied with my job!
Just get a girlfriend/boyfriend and you will learn the language fast af, it will also help to understand the culture ;) Good luck and congratulations! -
DevVsCat957y@AlmostPerfekt nice....I am dev from Malaysia. Nice hearing that many devs get jobs overseas and living a good life. Wishing to do the same later in life
Got a new job as a Full Stack Engineer. Moving to a new city. Feeling extremely nervous and a bit scary (cause I don't speak the language). Sitting here browsing devRant to ease up and relax.
