At least get an additional seminar on safe driving man, remember, you're technically driving a ton-heavy metal death machine.
Just be careful, if you feel unwell with it, which I presume you are, get a license training app and learn in your free time. -
sorry, but based on what you're writing i don't think you _should_ be driving a car.
you can do serious damage to yourself and others, and your god won't do nothing to intervene, no matter how much you pray. -
wait, have I read this right: you have bought a NEW car? Not a used one, but a NEW car?
If so, that was a mistake. Never buy a new car for your first one. Never buy a new motorcycle for your first one. You will be afraid to drive it, to park it,.. basically you'll be afraid to have it.
Now that you've already got it purchased, I see two options:
1. get another one, cheapo [but in good (read: safe) technical condition]. Use it for learning how to drive. First in a parking lot, then in the streets. When you feel comfortable, start using the new one.
2. deal with the fact that you WILL fuck your car up.
Also, like @electrineer said (and most other lads): GET THE TRAINING. If you will be riding in the streets w/o proper training, I truly hope you will crash somewhere away from other road users and not kill anyone else. The training is not just to teach you how to use the clutch and the wheel. It's mostly about "how not to become a murderer" in the street. I am very serious. -
Got no tips for others damaging your car, but for yourself be sure to break or scratch something as soon as possible, it takes a lot of the edge off.
Like the front bumper (its gonna scrape over bumps), or the side of your rims (also buy rim protectors) -
Hazarth94761yI hope you have a drivers license mate. But assuming you have. One really good tip for safety on the road that I heard is "You're not the danger, it's the other drivers that are the danger". Which means that you should always be mindful of your surroundings and make sure you understand what everyone else on the road is doing before you take any action. Always check on all the other cars and happening on the road
Ofc all the normal stuff applies as well like follow the rules, don't try to be cool, mind the weather, don't drink and drive, don't sit behind a wheel when tired either and so on and so forth. -
@netikras he can buy a used car after this one gets stolen, judging by the comment about his neighbours
-
@Hazarth he said he paid a bribe to get the license. And I'm not sure "follow the rules" applies to traffic in India. Unless the only rule is to honk the horn at all times.

@MammaNeedHummus @mansur85 @Ranchonyx @tosensei @electrineer
I KNOW HOW TO DRIVE. incase i wasn't clear, a std driving school gives 15 days of classes, i not only excelled once, but took it thrice. i know the theory AND practical of driving a car in ideal conditions.
also, if there is a certificate that tells that i can drive a car, i got one: the driving license. i even gave the test on the actual driving test. just that with the bribery i was able to do it on a much simpler !car than a std manual 5 gear car. Indian tests are very strict and reject you on the slightest of grill touching, so i didn't wanted to get rejected. that was the only way to get out the catch 22 : whether to get a car first or get a car driving experience/training first.
what else do you folks suggest? i am a fucking loner with no good relatives, neighbours, friends and collegues who would give their priced possession to me to get some experience. my parents ha e only driven a 2 wheeler due to financials -
I recently got my learner's license and started driving. And reading these comments I can tell yall be freaking out a little too much.
I am on the same boat as OP. At this stage I have taken 30 days of training with an instructor and driving isn't really what people make it out to be.
Be chill and enjoy the ride. you'll be fine.
Here's my car if you wanna see it. It's a Tata Punch 2023 model.
PS: I'm an Indian too. -
@Sid2006 duude!!! love your car man... i was this 🤏 close to booking a punch. but ended up with a tiago as parents freaked out looking at a mini suv. also did you got ppf/graphene coating?
and thanks for the support man 🙌 -
@retoor which country you are from? tata is an mnc . if not working directlyin your country, some native company of your country might be using tcs as cheap labour 🥲
-
@Sid2006 nah, can't be too careful with some things. here in germany, too many idiots are driving around who definitely shouldn't - simply because they're too incompetent at it.
-
@tosensei a cars width is 1.65m . the width of test track is 1.8m . you gotta do a reverse in a 's' shaped road of this width and make loops in a road that is in the shape of an audi logo. the sides of the road has sensors and if anh side of car touches the sides of road , then you fail
-
retoor116451y@dotenvironment Holy, I thought driving lessons here were hard. On my driving class we never focused on driving backwards. Only for parking
-
@dotenvironment Yeah pretty much we also went for Tiago. But taking one look at Punch we were like, we have to expand our budget and get it.
I really liked Harrier. But waaaayyyy outta budget lol 😆 -
@retoor You're dutch, and dont know Tata? same company as in Tatasteel/de hoogovens
-
30 days to learn how to drive? That is way too short. I don't believe you can drive after just 30 days, no matter how much time you invest learning per day. Here, you have to keep the learning licence for at least 1 year before you can go to the test to get a real one. And even after that there where some things i didn't know (for example where to drive/park in a traffic jam when there are 3 lanes and you are in the middle).
You should at least learn for 3 months, at a bear minimum. -
You should worry about other people you may injure other harm otherwise, especially when you only learned for 30 days, before you worry about your car.
i booked my first ever car and am having so many emotions... from scary to excited to anxious and mostly feeling super dumb.
i booked a very basic hatchback with minimal features and the lowest price. i was so not sure about the various terms that guy was using: mudflags, foglamps, tilt adjustment wheel ...
like, i read about them just a minute ago on google and next moment, this guy was asking me if i should pay this much amount to get it included in my car or not. i asked him many times and for things that i felt were useful, i got them included.
biggest things about this very first purchase is
1. i have learnt car driving from training school for 30 days. i got my license via some bribe money and did not gave the real test. I am basically a guy with no experience of handling cars. i was doing okay when learning tho
2. i am a single child from a very small, conservative and super anxious family. everytime i am gonna take this car, am sure my mom is gonna start praying to god for my safety. i too have this inherited anxiety and would probably be praying to god everytime i would travel alone.. the responsibility to keep myself safe, and the car safe, while not even knowing how to release clutch properly will be super scary
3. my friends are gonna love this but i want to become a trustful driver for them first. basically among 5 of us, only 1 had his father's car on which we have taken a lot of trips. that boy has my huge respect, and he is one of the best and most reliable safe driving person i know. he even enjoy the songs and pur conversations. i want to be like him, but currently my friends don't even trust sitting on the back of my scooty and feel scared.
4. our neighbours are probably gonna dug up their graves and roll in it. they are already very jelous and angry people, i hope they don't cause any damage to my new car.
5. i am super scared about this new car... how can i protect this precious baby... how to make sure that someone is not stealing parts off this..
so.many.fucking.scary.and exciting.thoughts!!!
