Sir need help!!!
I am really addicted to youtube, i am wasting days watching useless youtube videos and i am not able to do coding at all. I have already tried a lot of firefox addons but they are not working. Can anyone point me to a way that prevents Firefox from opening the YouTube website even though I would like to.

    well, if you _seriously_ can't stop yourself from watching _youtube videos_, i strongly recommend getting some therapy to treat your addiction.

    @cafecortado what's that for???

    Change the channels you watch so you watch useful videos instead. Or maybe replace them with music or radio?

    @zlice I've tried command that cafe mentioned above and it's work I cannot able to access youtube anymore and the good thing is I don't know how to undo that.

    The only way to actually beat addictions IMO is to train your willpower. Buy a pack of cookies or your favorite treat in the world, put it on the table or your desk where u will look at it all the time. Then don’t eat any of it for a month straight. This is the only thing that works for me, and if you think about it, your practicing fighting the addiction directly instead of adding a bunch of stupid tools to limit your access.

    Use a reward system. If you avoid x, you get y or get to do z.

    Start with short time periods and go longer as you gain habit control.

    Also, sounds like you are avoiding something else.

    You just need to find a way to like coding more than youtube. Imagine what you could achieve if you were addicted to coding.

    Pihole -> YouTube.com -> blocked -> $$$$$

    I had the same problem, I solved this by blocking the cookies completely for YouTube in the browser.

    That avoided its algorithm from luring me in.

    the worst part about leechblock, pihole, etc/hosts override, etc... is that sooner or later you'll find a way to bypass them. we're techs and overcoming/bypassing obstacles is our daily byz.

    so the only way is to attempt neuropaths rewrite as mentioned by @Demolishun but i've found out i'm failing at it too

    @electrineer imagine what i could achieve if i would be addicted to theoretical physics. ... brain not braining that way
