@electrineer It is possible to remove the shorts button, but I think they would still appear on the homepage. Maybe they'll add a patch to remove them fully in the future.
If you decide to go with ReVanced, I sugguest getting a youtube APK of the sugguested version they mention in the patcher. -
@electrineer well imo Youtube vanced works perfectly fine these days. And its (since its the real app ofc) very good optimised with background play and pop up video.. And i generally am fine with the youtube app.
I even have the "plus" btn in the nav bar hidden so i have only 4 items down there.

@electrineer reVanced works just as good as vanced and to some extend feels like they just recycled the vanced base. I use revanced extended though as for some reason the apk install of revanced failed for me.
even vanced microG does not have to be changed/updated -
@electrineer also it is funny everytime vanced stopps working, my brother and sisters come to me and ask for a new apk 🤭

I just found out YouTube ReVanced now has a kind of working patcher for android. It was easy to use and I don't have to use outdated vanced anymore. I can also choose which individual patches I want to used.
It's really nice. Even for people who don't want adblock and only want dislikes back since you can just disable that patch. I don't get why anyone wouldn't want to use it.
